because the Ferry schedule was postponed, changed, altered AND delayed...... we quite possibly could not make our booking... Eva was our contact during the uncertainty and was very profession and helpful||once we finally did arrive, we found the access to key box, and entry to the building simple and convenient. The rooms well furnished and exceptionally bright an cheery||easy to use laundry available. the rooms had comfy beds and well equipped kitchenette... unusual check in and access for USA visitors, but we had seen the "self check in" model in Iceland before and the only hiccup was checking our spam file for the instructional email...... would Highly recommend. A very good value, especially for 2 or 3 night stays...... easily the best overnight accommodations we have experienced in visiting Iceland annually since 2002

Stayed at Eldey Apartments the first weekend of May. Most amazing stay we had in Vestmannaeyjar, great restaurants, a local brewery, and Eldheimar museum. Lots of hiking and Eldey is very conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, short walk to good hiking trails (mountain hiking), 5 min walk to the golf course and approx. 20 min walk to downtown. The apartment we stayed in was very nice, it’s only a year old, and had everything we needed, plus a great bed to rest in after a busy day!

We were booked to stay at Eldey Apartments and then the ferry was cancelled and we could not utilise the booking. They have not offered us the chance to reuse the booking if we return to Iceland- whereas other hotels have done so. ||My advice is to book elsewhere and don’t let them use their get out clause of “Always keep yourself updated on the ferry via their company”. We recommend that you avoid at all costs- or it will possibly cost you!

The place is very industrial looking on the outside but functional on the inside. It is spacious and clean. Be aware that there are no one on-premises that will meet you and help in any way. The code for the box to get your key will be sent to you and most likely end up in spam. Also, the boxes are located on the right side of the main door, again not explained. There are no amenities other than laundry.||||So, for a clean, no-frills, somewhat quiet place with a killer view if you have a front-facing room. This is your place.

1. Il est difficile d'entrer en communication avec cet hôtel. Rien sur leur site. Rien sur le site de réservation. Nous avons du passer par leur page Facebook pour enfin obtenir une adresse mail de contact. ||2. Suite à des conditions météorologiques temporairement problématiques (vents importants, neige, etc.), notre voyage en bateau sur les îles Vestmann a été annulé par la compagnie de bateaux. L'hôtel a refusé de comprendre la situation et a donc refusé un remboursement car la société de bateaux proposait une solution de repli dans un autre port situé à 1H30 du port de départ initial et avec un trajet de 2h30 pour aller sur l'île au lieu de 25 minutes initialement, ce qui n'était pas possible pour nous. |Très très mauvais commerçant ! ||3. Nous n'avons pas pu nous rendre sur place mais il n'y a personne pour vous accueillir. Vous devez récupérer vos clefs dans un casier avec un code que l'hôtel vous envoi par mail. Ne comptez donc pas sur cet hôtel pour être reçu humainement et chaleureusement par votre hôte. Vous ne pourrez discuter ou recevoir des conseils puisque tout est automatisé. |

First time here and we are very impressed with the set up and the location. We like the amenities and design of this hotel. We will be recommending this place to all our friends that plan on visiting the island.

They refuse to give a refund or even partial refund when the Ferry was cancelled all weekend so we had no way of arriving. They have no sympathy whatsoever, so I would say just avoid them like the plague.
