We arrived at Oxl during some wild weather and it stayed that way for our stay, so it was a great comfort to have such a wonderful place to come back to at the end of each day. As a family of four the quad room was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen/lounge area was well equipped and comfortable. Siggi was a great host and went out of his way to help and give advice. Best of all after a cold wet day to relax in the Finnish Sauna!

La struttura é curata con attenzione e pulita. Le camere sono spaziose con un lavandino in ogni camera. Il locale condiviso é diviso in due zone, un piccolo soggiorno ed una cucina super accessoriata con tutto quello che serve. La proprietaria é gentile e sempre presente per ogni necessità.|Il bagno anch’esso pulito. Rispetto ad altre Guesthouse qui ho respirato una maggior presenza, cura ed attenzione della proprietaria per gli ospiti. Consigliata per che vuole visitare questa parte d’Islanda.

I heard about this place because of a documentary which interviewed a surfer in Iceland. The owner of this lovely guesthouse, is also a professional surfer in Iceland. How cool is that ?! ||Me and my husband have been travelling around the country a lot, yet it was the first time we come across this hidden jade. It's very close to the famous hotel Búðir. ||The service is excellent, the guesthouse itself have a shared kitchen and two very well equipped and clean bathroom. They provide the vegan breakfast with fruits, coffee, tea, etc. ||In the morning, you wake up hearing the bird singing, seeing the geese flying over you. The mountains, glaciers, etc. You can certainly feel the healing power in the region. ||Highly recommended !

We stayed here after not being able to find accomodation at a reasonable price in Arnarstapi, after stumbling upon oxl guesthouse we were pleasantly surprised! The guest house is a lovely family ran property who were only to happy to share there wealth of local knowledge about Iceland! The beds were comfortable and the sauna was amazing! They also have the option of a vegan breakfast which was delicious!

We stayed at Oxl for 2 nights recently as we started a western Iceland tour. It's clean , comfortable & good value ( for Iceland) . The owner was very welcoming , helpful & breakfast was delicious . We're not vegan but found it plentiful & tasty. Lots of hot water for showers . Great food just up the road at Armarstapi munch wagon fish & chips - well worth the trip.

This was my favorite lodging that I stayed in in Iceland! It is a beautifully renovated home, with comfortable rooms, hardwood floors and ginormous, slate-accent bathrooms and a large open plan kitchen/sitting area. The owner and his dog are gems, so kind and hospitable and so fun to chat with. I felt like I was spending the evening with friends, rather than a night in a hotel. Stay here if you are headed to the Snaefellnes pensinsula!

Wir verbrachten in - Öxl the Whitehouse, budir - mit Abstand den besten Aufenthalt während unserer 10tägigen Island Reise. Es war eine riesige Überraschung - so haben wir nach der online Buchung noch mit einem älteren, allenfalls ein bisschen heruntergekommenen Hof gerechnet; und nicht schlecht gestaunt als wir das Gasthaus betraten. Wir wurden äusserst freundlich und herzlich durch einen der Besitzer willkommen geheissen und fühlten uns direkt vom ersten Moment an zu Hause. Das Haus wurde sehr schön und sehr liebevoll renoviert, und jedes Detail perfekt abgestimmt. Alles war sehr sauber, die Betten herrlich bequem, die Badezimmer sehr geräumig und die Aussicht einfach genial. ||||Es herrscht eine sehr familiäre Atmosphäre und der Gemeinschaftsraum, der mehr ein Wohnzimmer abbildet, lädt dazu ein, gemütliche Stunden mit den anderen Gästen zu verbringen. ||||Wir hatten noch ein kleines Problem mit dem Zimmerschloss.. 🙂 Welchem sich der Hausherr sofort sehr hilfsbereit angenommen hat.||||Am nächsten Tag durften wir auch noch den 2. der Besitzer kennenlernen, ebenfalls äusserst freundlich und zuvorkommend. ||||Sie haben noch einiges vor mit dem Hof (Gasthaus wurde erst Anfangs August geöffnet) - was sehr vielversprechend klingt!||||Ein echtes Juwel - sehr empfehlenswert!! 🙂
