This was the best place we visited in Iceland. Everyone was very friendly and efforted to make our stay enjoyable. We went on a 2 hour horseback ride through incredible landscape with tremendous views. The ride was more challenging than the ride we took near Reykjavic because the terrain was more challenging (and interesting), up and down hills, across rivers and through pastures - well worth it. And it was just the three up us with two guides (including our host). Dinner was delicious and ample. One of the best meals we had in Iceland. The location is beautiful, slightly remote, and quiet.

J'y ai passé une nuit lors de mon road trip. Ma chambre était spacieuse et confortable et la vue magnifique. Un lieu parfait pour se relaxer après une longue journée de marche. La propriétaire est très sympathique et regorge d'anecdotes intéressantes sur la région. Elle donne également de très bons conseils afin de mieux connaître ce fabuleux pays. Un de mes endroits préférés parmi tous ceux dans lesquels j'ai séjourné lors de mes trois semaines passées en Islande.

The roads leading up to the guesthouse, like many in Iceland, were atrocious... but once we got there it was such an adorable little place. We had stayed in hostels the few nights before and needed a place to crash halfway through our golden circle jaunt and this place was perfect!! The room was bright and open with a cute armoire to House our coats. What was really great was we were right across the hall from the bathroom and the kitchen. Kitchen was equally clean and pleasant that came fully stocked with utensils, plates, glassware, cookware, stove and fridge! The bathroom was spacious and very clean. What really put them as five stars for us was not only the proximity of it being centrally located but the hosts were incredibly friendly and made a super cute breakfast for all guests in the morning. I would highly recommend staying here, you’ll surely get the rest and relaxation you deserve!

Comparée à la plupart des autres chambres d’hôtes en Islande, qui ne dépassent pas le niveau d’une auberge de jeunesse, ici nous sommes dans du haut de gamme : une belle ferme, où on peut faire aussi des balades à cheval, et un accueil d’une grande gentillesse et disponibilité. Il n’y a rien à redire : la chambre est spacieuse, la literie est très confortable, la salle de douche est nickel, avec tout ce qu’il faut. C’est très calme et on peut y dîner : cuisine maison et saveurs locales garanties. Le petit-déjeuner est tout simplement parfait : de nombreux hôtels en Islande ne proposent pas une telle variété, sans parler de la plupart des chambres d’hôtes (guesthouses)… Le meilleur endroit où nous avons séjourné sur un total de cinq hébergements différents en une semaine.

I so wanted to give this place a 5-star rating, but there were a few things that worked against it. First of, the good things. It's a good central location for sightseeing on the southern coast and the western coast. The room was very nice and clean. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and the dog was awesome. He hiked with us everywhere! The dinner were excellent. They are all home-cooked on-site and there is a wonderful selection of sides with two main dishes presented. Very good. Definitely 5-star in that area. The breakfast, though nice, was the typical European breakfast though it was a bit lacking. But it was all good. There is no TV in the room, which was fine for us because we only slept there anyway. They could use another trash can in the room. The bathroom was nice but the sink was rather small and one tends to hit their head on the glass shelf over the sink when you bend down. Pillows were a bit flat also. The roads leading up to the guesthouse off of the main road are all dirt and in bad shape. Many, many potholes that will shake and bounce your rental car all over the place. Signs are plenty, however, and you won't get lost. The area around the guesthouse is very pretty with lots of options for walking around. They have a large hot tub with very hot water but it is just a hot tub with no bubbles. It was nice to sit in it at 2230 when it was still light after a long day. Bring house slippers with you because you have to take your shoes off and leave them at the front door and then you have nothing to wear when you go for dinner or breakfast. It was very quiet though they don't have dark curtains so during those months when it is light out for almost the entire day, it can be a bit tricky to sleep. We would certainly come back here and stay again when we return to Iceland if we were to revisit the areas we have already seen. If you plan on visiting anything in the far western areas or the north, it would be best to book something in those areas as the distances are further than one would think on an island. I do believe that the best thing about this place was the price. You can't beat it compared to other places on the island.

My daughter and I spent a lovely evening at this guest house. Spacious and clean rooms and the place is run by lovely people.||We arrived late after a long drive and found our dinner waiting for us. Kari is an excellent cook and the meal was simply delicious. It was also well priced which is not normal in Iceland. Their horses were not available for riding in December so they set us up with a neighbouring farm....excellent service and most appreciated.||Hope to visit again soon.

Une vraie guesthouse avec un accueil extrêmement gentil, décontracté et avec plein d'humour. Grande chambre confortable 'et propre; Repas simple et bon. Un bain d'eau chaude extérieur bien agréable ... bref, c'est un bon point de chute dans le cercle d'or islandais.

Kari was an amazing host and we are so thankful for her hospitality! Dinner was absolutely amazing, homemade Icelandic food!!! Comfortable beds, cozy atmosphere around the farm, beautiful view from the room window. We enjoyed talking to the family and felt truly at home. Will return in Summer for the horse riding tours!
