We stayed here for 1 night in a family room. We made our way from Jokulsarlon Lagoon to Hofn where we stopped for dinner and then we took a "short-cut" up into the clouds and out into Silfurberg. The drive was dramatic and other worldly. We were warmly greeted and headed straight for the hot pool which was very welcome after an adventure packed day. It is an extraordinarily tranquil place to visit.||||The room was extremely clean, nicely decorated however slightly disappointing as the lower basement held the bathroom and up some steep stairs to the room with 2 single beds for the kids and a double sofa bed (I am not a fan of sofa beds and was disappointed). There is a small kitchenette and table and glorious views. The windows did not have black out blinds which is difficult in the Icelandic summer. ||||Overall we did enjoy our stay here as it is such a unique spot which you just would not see on the standard tourist trail. The owner is a gentle, slightly eccentric character who has built this wonderful creation. The breakfast area is delightfully quirky and the breakfast although in rather small portions is very tasty. I think it would have been better if we had of had dinner at Silfurberg, I tried to pack too much into this particular day. I will always remember this part of our trip so therefore it was worthwhile.

We just spent a 1 night stay with our family ( 2 young teens) at this beautiful guesthouse that is truly in the middle of nowhere! After travelling from the glacier lagoon, we took a short cut through the mountains with spectacular views and arrived at this beautiful farmstead at the bottom of a stunning valley, and were immediately greeted by the owners granddaughter. This has so far been the the best stay on our trip, with by far the best meal prepared by their on site chef. We even enjoyed using the outdoor hot tub after the long drive. So relaxing! For anyone with a sense of adventure, a search for uniqueness, or looking for a peaceful, serene setting, this is the place to stay while traveling though the east coast of Iceland . We simply lived it!!!

As others have said, absolutely the best accommodations we stayed at for our Iceland getaway. The hotel was quiet for sleeping and very cozy and we got a private tour complete with sauna and hot tub. By far the best attraction is the food, however. It was excellent and you get to sit and watch them prepare it while you chat. You then get to eat around the table with the other guests. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and made us feel at home instantly. You definitely need to stay here!

Un accueil extraordinaire, des chambres délicieusement décorées et aménagées, un sauna idéal en extérieur tout comme le jacuzzi protégé sous un dôme permettant d'admirer le paysage. Nous avons été accueillis par le propriétaire qui nous a fait visiter l'ensemble des aménagements (chambres, salle de jeux, salle à manger spacieuse donnant sur la bergerie encore en activité). Décoration moderne et soignée réalisée avec beaucoup de goût. Nous étions les seuls vacanciers ce jour là et la plus jolie chambre nous a été proposée. Nous avons dîner sur place. Souvenir mémorable ! Le propriétaire nous a accueillis dans sa maison et a cuisiné pour nous avec des produits locaux (salade excellent, cabillaud et légumes délicieux et dessert maison parfait. Le petit déjeuner était du même niveau incroyable et succulent). C'est de loin le meilleur hébergement et repas que nous ayons fait de tout notre séjour. Nous regrettons de ne pas avoir réservé une nuit supplémentaire dans ce lieu si particulier et si chaleureux. ||||The best accommodation of our trip in Iceland. Warm welcome, delicious and home made meals (dinner and supper), charming room, nice and modern decoration. Sauna and jacuzzi. Nothing was missing ! It was so incredible. We enjoyed a lot our stay and highly recommend this accomodation.

Unique location among the fjords of Iceland. We were greeted by the owners who were a lovely and welcoming couple. When we drove up, we thought this is just another nondescript farmhouse almost in the middle of nowhere. |But we were totally surprised by the sleek fine architecture. What was once a sheep barn was totally transformed into a fine boutique hotel. |There are only 5 rooms but each is finely appointed. |We opted to have dinner there and the chef did not disappoint!! Delicious fresh lamb perfectly prepared. Locally grown veggies and wonderful dessert, all served in a farmhouse atmosphere. |Well recommended and truly memorable experience!!

This isolated converted farmhouse was one of our two favourites in Iceland. The construction and decor are modern, stylish and unique. Five guest rooms, together with large common spaces for dining and the owner's museum quality displays of arctic animals and Icelandic dress. The spa behind the buildings was welcome. My early morning walk in the valley between snowy peaks was exhilarating. Our two bountiful meals matched fine dining anywhere. And we got to meet a different set of interesting travellers than those we met in the large 'cookie-cutter' hotels. This was a treat.

This was a unique experience on our roundtrip around Iceland. |This place is so beautiful and well designed that it is hard to fathom. The old stables and family heirlooms are perfectly incorporated into the modern design of the guesthouse. Add to that a great chef with a true grandmothers instinct to never let anyone go hungry and you have a perfect little getaway for all those travel worn explorers ready to be spoiled.

We stayed in over 10 different places during our 14 days in Iceland and this was our favorite. The owner (who happens to be a retired architect) has created an extraordinary place. Every detail is pure luxury. It has recently been named by a German magazine as one of the top ten places to stay in your lifetime...need I say more!!! It is located in the East Fjords of Iceland, which are unbelievably gorgeous. I can't say enough about this place...not only are the rooms beautiful but so are the common rooms. It's truly extraordinary and the food is fantastic. Absolutely book a dinner with this magnificent place it will be your best dinner during your travels.
