This was one of the best stays we had on our trip because of their hospitality. The hotel has rooms across the town, we were informed about our stay and provided with all the information. The breakfast was arranged on request, and they very well took care of our needs. This was also the best breakfast we had and the cutest coffee art.

Hotel Aldan did a great job reusing several old commercial buildings in the little town of Seydisfjordur. The reuse of space provides a unique experience to stay in traditional Icelandic homes. They are cozy and spacious. Also, don't miss the restaurant at the Hotel Aldan check-in. Probably some of the best beef cheek I've ever had.

If you are looking for a new and modern hotel, this is not it. But if you are looking for something that embodies the past with modern conveniences, this is it. It is not one building, but several old buildings that have been modernized and repurposed trying to incorporate the best of both. The old wood floors add to the charm. The rooms maybe sometimes small, but they have all the amenities that you want and need. The setting is nice and scenic being by the water and set in the old part of town. The staff is very helpful and efficient. There is more than adequate parking at each of the sites. And the rooms are reasonably priced. Booking. com claims there is no meal option here, but when you check ask about breakfast. They have one of the best breakfasts that I encountered in Iceland and it cost the least.

This place is adorable. We absolutely loved the vintage decor, the cozy bedding, and the great water pressure.

Given that their restaurant is under construction, they have an arrangement with a local establishment for breakfast. Be forewarned: the breakfast time is STRICTLY adhered to -- we were a few minutes late and missed out on the breakfast, which was our own fault, but a bummer all the same.

The room was very small, which I knew. Bedding and towels are clean. But the building is very good, and has a musty smell. The shelf in the bathroom got in the way of the wash basin, and there is no way not to splash some water on the floor. The Nordic restaurant is the best I have tasted in Iceland thus far.

We stayed in the historic post office building. There are four separate buildings under the Hotel Aldan name. All are historic buildings. All look beautiful from the outside. Our room was spectacular. Enormous. Perfect views. Wonderfully historic and gorgeous furnishings. We could not say more about this hotel. Our favorite of our 10 day journey around Iceland. Staff was very helpful when we needed some minor first aid help. Highly highly recommended!

We stayed here during our ring road trip. the staff was really friendly. the room was big and the beds really comfortable. I can definitely recommend this hotel. the breakfast which was served in the “main” house was amazing. a lot of options and choices.
