Frábær þjónusta og staðsetning. 👍❤️🌷🇮🇸

We stayed in the AS guesthouse in Akureyri for several nights during our ring road tour of Iceland. The guesthouse was, without question, my favorite stop of the many places that we stayed as we made our way around the country. It was incredibly comfortable (the cozy, soft bedding and warm, beautifully designed room made it so easy to get a great night sleep) and the views from the rooms and the house were amazing. The hosts were so helpful, kind and knowledgeable about the area (they had been born and raised here in Akureyri) and helped us with our decisions about what to see and do while in the area. We will absolutely return here on our next visit to Iceland. We would highly recommend it to others traveling in the Akureyri area as well.

My boyfriend and I stayed at AS Guest House for 2 nights at the beginning of our stay in Iceland. We'd driven straight from Reykjavik after a red eye flight and were exhausted. It was lovely to show up to warm, inviting home and to meet Smari, as well. He was very helpful that evening for our dinner plans and in our activities to follow. We had a King room overlooking the water and mountains. It was very modern and well appointed. The shared bathroom was across the hall and did not pose any problems with 4 adults using it. Plenty of hot water (you just need to be careful with flooding, as the shower is in the middle of the bathroom).||Breakfast was light and just enough to start a long day of exploring the north. Smari even put out small items for us to pack one morning when we had an early start before breakfast. He was kind enough to let us take some fruit and sandwiches for the road. All in all a pleasant stay and convenient to everything! The walk to town was about 10 minutes and parking was very easy right in front of the house.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel truly welcome. Smari was the best host we had on our trip around Iceland. The room was lovely and had a fabulous view of the fjord. The room had everything that we needed, was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was superb. We would highly recommend this lovely guesthouse to anyone.

We stayed in Guesthouse As in August 2017. It was booked via travel agency in Akureyri. It is situated in a quiet residential area yet only about 15 minutes away from city centre by walk. It is operated by a pair of senior couples - Mr and Mrs Smari. Both are very friendly and hospitable. They are always smiling like their name.|| ||Mrs Smarie is very thoughtful. She prepared the great breakfast for us and often gave us extra plastic bag for packing our lunch. There were always a few different varieties in the breakfast. We stayed in Guesthouse As for three days only yet did feel like staying home for the cosy bedroom and warm hospitality. The scenery from our balcony is peaceful and beautiful. || ||A heartfelt gratitude to both Mr and Mrs Smarie for making our stay so wonderful. We enjoyed the serenity there and felt Akureyri more peaceful than in Reykjavik.

We’ve just stayed three wonderful nights as guests of Smari! He did so much to look after us, nothing was too much trouble, and he made us feel very welcome and relaxed.||The location was fantastic! A few minutes walk to the Botanic Gardens, 5 minutes to the Old Town and 10 minutes walk into Akureyri centre and the harbour. ||The breakfasts were amazing! So much to choose from - tea, coffee, juice and water, yoghurt/Skyr, lots of choice of fruits and pastries (try the ‘happily married’ cake!), bread bought by Smari fresh from the bakery each morning. We barely needed to eat during the day. Smari encouraged us to make a sandwich to take with us on our day trip out too! So kind. And when we got back we had a pot of tea, cheese and biscuits and cake waiting for us. And he drove us to the airport fir our flight back to Reykjavik. ||Smari worked really hard to look after us, and we are very grateful. My Family (we are 5) had a lovely stay in the Guest House in April. Smári (owner) was very polite and helpful and wanted to do his best to make Our trip as successful as possible. We felt like home in big rooms and had all fasilities we need. We could make Our own Food in the Kitchen and the living room is excellent. This accommodation is definitely recommended. We had a great time there and would love to come back again.

From when we were greeted at the door until we left, we felt a true welcome attitude. The host and hostess were attentive and charming, the breakfast was delicious and the home very inviting. Our room faced the fjord with balcony and was perfect to end the day of sightseeing sitting and looking at the view. Great place!
