This is the way a guesthouse should be run. We rented one of the standalone bungalows - it was 2 rooms with a shared bathroom and shared kitchen. The rooms were clean and quiet, the breakfast was outstanding, and the one thing that this place offered that we didn't find anywhere else in the country was a visitor's guide with QR codes for easily finding activities in the area.

The nearby Myvatn Nature Baths were my favorite springs in the country (we visited several), and this is where we first saw the Aurora Borealis.

Highly recommend this destination and the Elda Guesthouse.

The location is good, The rooms are nice. The shared bathrooms and showers are more than adequate. And the breakfast is ample and fairly good. But typical of all lodging in this area, it is over priced. Probably due to the inadequate supply of rooms in this area and short tourist season here, owners jack up their prices. I had better rooms and breakfasts for half the price on my tour of Iceland.

Stayed there as a family for four nights and the two girls that were running this place where so hospitable. Their service was very good. We have a 19 month baby girl and we came a little bit early, called them and asked for a early check in. No problem. When we arrived almost everything was ready with a children´s bed and everything. Our doughter has allergic to eggs and milk and they custom made breakfast for us. I myself ate the buffet and it was really good!||The bed was good and the room that we got was separate from the main building, it had a sink in it and a desk. You can hear commotion if somebody is opening doors but its ok. There was 2 toilets both with showers, everything clean and a small kitchen where you could cook, store your food in the fridge and eat at a table.||I accidentally broke an bottle opener and told them about it and they just brought me a new one. I promised to buy a new one but I totally forgot it.|I recommend this place, especially if you have kids. Just let them know beforehand and they will take good care of you.

The house looks a bit austere, but it is functional and clean. Our room was simple but clean and convenient. There are 2 bathrooms for 4 rooms, which is convenient at peak hours. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Convenient location, but no view. Breakfast was okay.

Pro: Friendly staff. There is a laundry service (bit pricey, 1500 ISK for washing and 1500 for drying, but it is good). Good shower. Location near lake Myvatn. Nice kitchen. Shared space is is clean including floor as you have to take off your shoes at the entrance.
Con: Room was extremely warm even though we opened the window and turned down the heating (outside was 4 degrees!). This wasn’t comfortable at all. The walls are thin which makes the rooms very noisy; when we stayed there, there was a family with young children and we could hear every sound.
Advice: leave the keys in the door on the outside because they cannot be opened without them and you only get 1.

Warm welcome, friendly staff. Room a bit small, but equiped with a sink. Poor soundproofing - depends on your neighbours. Otherwise everything was clean and comfy! Breakfast available but not tested.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The parking was adequate. The location is near the lake, major sites, and the village center.

The rooms were clean but small. The room was unventilated which means a build up of humidity overnight. The bath had a large step down out off of a slick and wet surface. No handles or friction improvers. Watch for that. The rooms are in a suite which is shared with other guests. The kitchenette was well provisioned. The non bed room seating was a single small couch.

The process of check in is self serve. If you know how it works, it is fine. If you do not, there will be little hiccups. Breakfast was great with attentive staff. The dining area had plenty of seating when busy.

Nice. Near by supermarket and gas station. You have all you need in the kitchen.
