Our group of 4 were very pleased with the comfort and convenience of this guesthouse. Hanna and her husband are a lovely and welcoming couple. We took advantage of the well-equipped kitchen, dining table and comfortable lounge area, but did not add on the optional breakfast available at the guesthouse. Each guestroom includes a sink and the 2 shared bathrooms for 4 or 5 guestrooms improve the chances that one will be available when needed. The neighborhood is pleasant for strolling and getting a feel for how locals live in this very pretty town. Highly recommend staying here!

Stayed here for one night during our roadtrip. One of the best places we stayed at. Nice service, sweet elderly man helped us out. Had a nice twinbed room with our own sink (which helps a lot when you share the bathroom). The whole place is very clean an tidy. A few guests so it was also calm. We felt relaxed while staying here. If you pay extra you get breakfast which was good, we got newly made waffles. Nice view over the water from the house.

Hanna Sigga is the perfect host. She welcomed us and made us feel like home. Very comfy beds and the hot tub is amazing. Very beautiful surrounding and the nature is stunning around there. I'll definitely go there again. ||Hvammstangi is a very Icelandic town and is famous for having seals on their shores.

Nous y avons séjourné en compagnie d'un couple d'amis. Les chambres sont petites mais très propres et joliment décorées. Il y a un peu trop de chambres pour la capacité de la cuisine ce qui fait que si l'on est plusieurs à vouloir manger sur place, on doit 'attendre son tour' mais quand on est en vacances, le temps n'a pas vraiment d'importance. En plus, la table du repas est contiguë au salon, on mange donc 'en public', comme dans les auberges de jeunesse, en fin de compte. Ce ne sont là que les deux petits bémols car l'ensemble est très très bien tenu, les salles de bains sont modernes et très propres et le petit déjeuner, varié et excellent, est servi à l'étage, dans le séjour de la propriétaire, avec une vue panoramique sur les environs - splendide.

Die Reservierung des Zimmers per Email / Internet war problemlos (http://www.simnet.is/gistihs/).||||Das Sigga Guesthouse ist ein privates Einfamilienhaus in einer ruhigen Lage in Hvammstangi. Das Haus hat einen sehr gepflegten Garten und bietet einen Hot-Pot für die Gäste (Vorbereitungszeit ca. 45 Minuten), das wir nicht genutzt haben.||||Unser Zimmer selbst: nun ja, sehr sauber aber, kleiner geht's wohl nicht mehr. Es gab kein Nachtkästchen, keinen Kasten, nur 2 Haken zum Aufhängen der Jacken und ein schmales Brett als Ablagemöglichkeit für Brille, Handy, etc. Unser kleiner Trolley konnte nur geöffnet werden, wenn er am Bett lag.||||Weiters im Zimmer ein kleines Waschbecken. Dusche und WC als Gemeinschaftsbad, aber sehr sauber und nett eingerichtet und kein Gedrängel. ||||Frühstück: kleines, typisch isländisches, Frühstücksbuffet in nettem Ambiente unter permanenter Aufsicht der Gastgeberin.||||TIPP: Touristeninformation (als kleines Geschäft geführt) ausgesprochen freundlich und informativ, ohne Kaufverpflichtung. Wer in Hvammstangi ist unbedingt die Robbenkolonie anschauen - Touristeninfo sagt euch wo!

This guest house occupies the lower floor of the owner's home. There are several bed rooms and two shared baths. We were the only guests so had the place to ourselves. It was very warm and clean, with comfortable beds. There was a lounge with a nice view of the sunset. There was a kitchen, which was very compact and tidy. The owner was very nice. |

We stayed at this guesthouse for one night during our trip around the ring road. We found the place to be very cozy and charming, one of my favourite place we stayed during our trip! The guest house was really easy to find thanks to numerous signs in the town and neighborhood and the host was very friendly and had great recommendations! ||The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn't get much chance to use the kitchen, but it was well stocked with spices and equipment. ||It was a great place to stay, and I'm a bit disappointed we only had one night!

We arrived later than expected because the drive from Reykjavik was slower than expected with snow and ice. The house is on a hill overlooking the inlet. The guest rooms are located down a flight of exterior stairs and share a common sitting and eating area. Our room was comfortable, with twin beds and a sink. The shared bathroom was across the hall. We were the only guests so we had the place entirely to ourselves. ||We were not offered breakfast and probably would have declined given the cost. The kitchen is well equipped but we decided to eat out. We were a little taken aback that tea bags in the kitchen cost 150kr and instant coffee was listed at 300kr ($2.58) per cup that you make yourself. You would think that paying $113 for a nights stay might include a cup of coffee in the morning. ||We did manage to see the Northern Lights from near the restaurant where we ate, and later drove a little west out of town to avoid the town's lights and saw more.
