Nach einer langen USA-Reise sind wir für drei Nächte in einem von Larus‘ Bay View Apartments abgestiegen, um uns zu erden, um die Effekte des Jetlags abzumildern und um Island zumindest ein wenig kennenzulernen.

Die Wohnungen sind nur 10‘ mit dem Auto vom Flughafen entfernt (kein Fluglärm) und liegen DIREKT an der Bucht von Reykjavik. Mehr Natur geht nicht. Die Anlage besteht aus vier Einheiten und ist absolut privat. Wenn man im sensationellen Hot Pot/Tub sitzt, beobachten einen maximal die Möwen und das eine oder andere Entengetier. Eigentlich müsste nun eine seitenlange Ode an eben dieses heisse Bad aus Holz kommen, das in das High-End-Bad integriert ist. Wenn die Insel sich von ihrer rauen Seite zeigt, dann steigt man einfach, wenn man vom Ausflug zurück ist, in das heisse Wasser, guckt aufs Meer und entspannt. So gut. Unbezahlbar.

Das Apartment ist nagelneu, es wurden hochwertige Materialien verbaut. Nix klappert, nix rappelt. Die Betten sind bequem, die Verdunklungsvorhänge funktionieren. Vom Stil her ist alles eher herb und männlich eingerichtet, also viel Stein und Leder, was perfekt zur Landschaft passt. Die Ausstattung ist in fast allen Bereichen top. Wir hätten uns lediglich über eine beschichtete Pfanne für die Blaubeerpfannkuchen gefreut ?, sonst war alles da.

Von den Apartments aus lassen sich manche Sachen binnen Minuten ansteuern (Blaue Lagune, neuer Vulkan in Grindavik). Reykjavik ist ca. 40‘ mit dem Auto entfernt (Achtung! Die Rush Hour ab ca. 16h ab R. hat es in sich, würde man gar nicht meinen.) Ein Grossteil der Golden-Circle-Sehenswürdigkeiten kann man ebenfalls von hier aus abfahren.

Ich habe nur ein Foto angehängt. Der Regenbogen war bei Sonnenuntergang über der Bucht zu sehen, aufgenommen vom Hot Pot bei geöffnetem Panoramafenster.

Lieber Larus, wir haben gelesen, dass man mit etwas Glück vor deinen Apartments diverse Walarten in der Bucht beobachten kann. Wir haben stundenlang aufs Meer gestarrt und ein Mal waren wir uns fast sicher. Fast. Wenn wir wiederkommen, was wir fest geplant haben, dann bringen wir ein Fernglas mit. Und definitiv mehr Zeit. Danke, dass wir deine Gäste sein durften.

Ein super Apartment! Trotz sehr später Anreise war alles Organiesiert! 100 %! Der Hotpot mit Blick auf die Bucht ist wirklich zu empfehlen!

Wanna see northen light? Just stay here. Ofcoz with good timing, you can watch the light dancing in front of you in the comfort of the warm and cosy place.

I booked a room here last minute after our flights got screwed up and the Bay View Apartments was an absolute DREAM.

With this being a last minute thing, we didn't have a car but it was an easy taxi drive to the apartment from the Airport. We also booked the morning of and the owners of the apartment reached out to us quickly via email. One of the owners met us at the apartment to let us in and showed us around. He even set up the tub for us and offered to drive us to the grocery store nearby!

The apartment itself is absolutely beautiful and any photos I take would do no justice. I highly recommend checking out the photos on Hotels.com to get an idea of what it really looks like. The apartment is great with an impressive kitchen. There's even a washer and dryer.

The best part? The tub. 110%. Thermal baths are one of my favorite things about Iceland, so being able to have my own personal one was the best. The next morning, I drew another bath and soaked before getting ready to leave for our flight. The 11 am sunrise was great to watch and was so entirely relaxing.

The next time I need to stay around the airport I will ABSOLUTELY be booking a stay at the Bay View Apartments. It's incredibly convenient to the airport, has an amazing view, and you get to enjoy that awesome hot tub. If you're in need of a place in this area, I highly recommend it.

Both owners did great job at communicating with clear instructions. We supposed to check in at 4 pm , our flight arrived early at 6 am. Larus told us we can check in as early as 7 am. Very pleased . Home itself is magnificent, top notch modern furniture, kitchen , bathroom, hot tub and bedrooms. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook. Coffee machine is amazing, you can make so many options from expresso shots to lattes, cappuccinos (coffee actually manually grind coffee beens) bed and beds sheets are very soft and comfortable. Hot tub is amazing experience with good view. . Overall is luxury apartment house with top notch technology, comfort and atmosphere. Definitely recommend it. Good jobs guys.

Wow such a stunning property, we enjoyed every little moment in the house and love the bath tub so much. It’s gonna be our dream home model now, good job you guys!
