I stayed in apt 200 - this charming apt is in a converted garage. I stayed a week and it was a perfect base to explore the city and the region. It's a nice space. The location is fantastic - close to everything yet quiet! Also, the owners have a number of outstanding restaurants in Reykjavik and will help you get reservations with a discount!||||Pros: ||-Location, ||-Space, ||-Price,||-Comfort of the double bed & linens, ||-Having a galley kitchen/fridge, ||-Discounts at the owner's family's excellent restaurants!||||Cons: ||-Mold in shower stall & curtain - because the shower stall is so narrow, it's hard to avoid the mold on the lower part of the shower curtain & at the base of the stall. (I think they will deal with this - it's a new enterprise)||-Towel situation ( only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel were provided for 1 person for a 1 week stay, but in my experience, usually there are 2/person, esp when the stay is long); however, a change/room clean was available for a price.||-No laundry facilities or options for apt 200 (apparently other apts at Brattagata have it)...but Reykjavik is a really tough place to do laundry! I ended up hand washing things and putting them on the radiators.||- Lack of black out curtains - I had an eye mask, but if you didn't, and you were visiting in May, or during the summer months with the long days...it might be a problem. ||||When I first arrived, the wifi (I needed this for my work) wasn't working and it took a day to resolve. They were responsive. Also, I asked for more light, and again, quite responsive! ||||This is a great place to stay. I liked not having daily maid service (but would have appreciated it in the middle of week-long stay, or at least 2 towels per persodn). The location was perfect and the space was very comfortable! Recommend!!!

Jolie maison rouge proche de l’office de tourisme. Nous y avons passé deux nuits dans une chambre en contrebas d’une petite annexe collé à la maison principale. La chambre était spacieuse et disposait d’un accès à une petite cuisine et salle de douche séparées mais privées. Sans charme ni décoration mais les lits étaient excellents. Nous avons eu l’impression de vivre avec nos voisins, très bruyants, notamment lorsqu’ils prenaient leur repas et douches tant l’insonorisation fait défaut.

Wir haben eine Nacht bei Ingunn verbracht, hatten die Ferienwohnung mit zwei Zimmern. Die Einrichtung ist prima, die Betten bequem, alles war sauber. Obwohl man mitten im Zentrum wohnt, hört man überhaupt keinen Lärm. Ingunn ist eine sehr nette Gastgebererin, hat uns prima Tipps gegeben und viel über Island erzählt. Sie war auch so freundlich, unser Gepäck bis zu unserer Abreise aufzubewahren. Das hat uns sehr geholfen. Ihr Frühstück war reichhaltig und hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen

Am Ende unserer Reise war Brattagata-Guesthouse für 2 Nächte unsere Unterkunft. Es liegt ruhig und doch sehr zentral in einer kleinen Seitenstraße. Das Haus selbst ist sehr hübsch und gepflegt. Die Unterkunft im Anbau (sieht etwas wie eine Garage aus) war sehr gemütlich. Ein großes Zimmer mit Doppelbett und Sofa, Küchenzeile und kleinem Duschbad. Alles war sehr sauber. Ingunn betreut ihre Gäste sehr liebevoll und ist immer hilfsbereit. Sie bleibt lange wach, um die späten Gäste zu begrüßen und steht früh auf, damit man mit einem guten Frühstück in den Tag starten kann. || Bei unserer nächsten Reise nach Island möchten wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier ein Zimmer mieten. Wir wären gern länger geblieben und bedanken uns ganz herzlich mit vielen Grüßen auch an Ingunns Enkelsohn.

Perfect downtown location, walking distance to everything, and a taxi stop outside when needed. We rented the entire first floor as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment for a week as a family with kids, and it was great. There's even a swing set in the backyard.
Owner responded within 24 hours to a small request, otherwise it is self-service. Wi-Fi worked fine, beds were fairly comfortable and dark curtains provided.
We were very very happy staying here, would stay again and recommended to others.

We stayed our first night in Iceland at this guesthouse. We arrived very early in the morning, around 8 am. The owner, Ingrin was extremely accommodating to us and actually gave us a room immediately since it was ready so we didn't have to wait till check in. She even fed us which we were very thankful for. ||The location could not have been any better. Central to all the sites all within walking distance. The room was very comfortable and we had no issues with the shared bathroom with another couple. ||We would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone.

Das Guesthouse hat eine gute Lage und man ist gleich zu Fuß im Zentrum, auch die Verbindung zum Flughafen ist mit FlyBus leicht möglich. Weniger gefallen hat uns die Sauberkeit, das Bad musste geteilt werden und war bei unserer Ankunft am Nachmittag nicht geputzt. Vermieterin ist zwar nett aber nicht sonderlich bemüht.

Decent place. Clean, and right in the middle of Reyjavik. Everything is at walking distance.
However you are just in the alignment of a landing stripe of the airport , planes landing will wake you up.
The sleeping accomodations are average. Clean and well prepared but the beds are way too soft and the convertibles way too thin (you can feel the springs)

Overall a decent place that really needs to fix sleeping comfort.
