We had a fantastic experience with Iceland 4x4. We were picked up from the airport and shuttled to the car pick up.
We had our car and roof top tent full equipped with sleeping bags and kitchen utensils.
It was fantastic.
The team were so helpful and friendly. Great customer service.
I would highly recommend them to every traveler who is visiting Iceland.

Excellent rental from Iceland Campers who use Campervan Reykjavik as a third-party booking agent. The camper was extremely clean and mechanically sound. Exactly as described and got about 30 mpg USA. The clutch was EXTREMELY easy so really no need to get an automatic if you have had any experience with a stick shift or motorcycle in the past, even a little bit. The duvets were toasty warm, clean and comforting and the foam cushions on the bottom bunk were comfortable with the foam mattress on top being perfect for my achy back. Bring an eye mask in summer if you have to have it dark because even with curtains the van is still pretty light all night. We will go back to Iceland and we will specifically rent from Iceland Campers again.

My husband, son, and I just had the most amazing week traveling around Iceland on the Ring Road. We rented a van from Iceland Campers through Campervan Reykjavík. The camper was brand new and was perfect for our needs. I can’t imagine exploring Iceland any other way. There was room for all our stuff and we loved that the lower bed converted into a table and benches. The beds were very comfortable. There was also a counter, an heater, and a small refrigerator. The heater kept the van toasty warm at night, and the fridge was big enough for all of our food and our beer! There were curtains that we could pull at night or for privacy, and they made it dark enough in the camper so that we had no trouble sleeping. We also had a table and chairs for eating outdoors, as well as a camping stove, a pot, a pan, and cooking/eating utensils.

The customer service from both Iceland Campers and Campervan Reykjavík Was excellent and all our needs were met. I highly recommend traveling in a campervan if you go to Iceland.

Please do not use this company. You'll be overcharged, mis quoted and told items cost extra when in reality they're included for free.

When dealing with them, they appear very responsive and helpful but in reality the following will occur:

- a few months before my picking up my Campervan, I changed the duration of my trip by a day. They were happy to do so and quoted me a revised price. When I requested a revised invoice as a confirmation, I was told they were not able to do so in their system. Lo and behold, a day before pick up I get an email from the actual rental provider and the fee is $700 higher than what Campervan Reykjavik informed me I would be paying. Then when I reached out to them indicate their error and get clarification, there was no apology. Instead all I received was "yes, what the provider quoted is correct".... Even though Campervan Reykjavik who I booked through and made my reservation and TRUSTED to tell me the correct revised price, messed up.

- next, we rented a car with the roof top tent. Campervan Reykjavik mentioned that bedding and pillows would cost extra. Well when I arrived at the actual provider, these were included for free AND on the providers website mentioned these items were always included. So beware they will try to get you here.

- finally... Campervan Reykjavik does not provide you the vehicle, they use a local company, so after booking you don't have contact with them again. The rental itself was a bit of a mess. The car had 290,000km already on the vehicle. The front passenger side mirror was tapped up. The front bumper was missing a screw and sounded like the whole front of the car was going to fall off the entire trip. The drivers door hinge was rusted so almost fell off everytime you opened the door and you really had to slam it closed. And the best was the hood sensor was malfunctioning the entire trip and was saying it was loose.... It wasn't - I had the local rental provider confirm. Also the roof tent clasp broke within 12 hours of picking up the vehicle so we were then told to wrap pulley straps around the tent for our entire 2 week trip.

Others:
- paid for the car wifi and that never work worked. Something was also wrong with the charger so it died every 20 min.

Overall - don't waste your time or money with this company. They don't care about their customers.

We had a wonderful time in Iceland and already dreaming of returning!  We enjoyed the Campervan rental experience and would rate it a 5!  From the online reservation, through pick up at the airport, there was clear communication. The staff was extremely friendly, picked us up at the airport, even at 01:00 after our flight out of Heathrow was delayed, making us arrive much later than expected. The staff was very efficient checking us in and gave a thorough run-down of all features before we set out.

We opted for the "essentials" package, which included table & chairs, all kitchen equipment, stove, Dometic fridge/cooler, sleeping bags, pillows, GPS and WiFi. Everything we needed to explore the Island!

We had a fantastic time, and the campground suggestions given by Staff were great! Several really nice campgrounds that enhanced our journey! The drop off procedure was even easier than pick up! We cleaned the vehicle, to the standard in the contract, so we literally brought it back and handed over the keys. After a quick inspection for damages, we were on our way to the airport for our departure. We will definitely be repeat customers!

Customer service prior to the trip was particularly remarkable, with rapid and thorough responses to our inquiries regarding various details and reservation adjustments. All the motorhomes were in good condition and ready to go upon arrival, and well equipped. Especially appreciated was the wifi service and tablets with all the enroute information we could need, and the inclusive insurances and cleaning options.

We had a fabulous time the entire voyage, and would highly recommend Campervan Reykjavik to anyone.

We loved Iceland and Campervan Reykjavik made it easy for our rental needs. They promptly answered all our questions before and after taking possession of the unit. The campervan was as described on website. Staff was courteous and very helpful from airport pickup to return. We recommend them and would use them again if we get the chance to go back to Iceland.

This website is not the actual rental office. We were routed to Geysir Motorhome Rentals and the unit they provided was not what was on their website.

The vehicles are not well maintained, and I don’t believe it was just our experience. While waiting to return our van, we heard another couple mention that the doors were broken on their unit.
