This is the most beautiful, whimsical and magical garden I have had the privilege of visiting and it was well worth the walk uphill. As well as the varied planting schemes the landscape is dotted with so many of these amazing fairytale metal sculptures. I was surprised that it is located in someone’s back garden and regretted that we had no cash to make a voluntary donation towards the maintenance of the garden. I thank the owner most sincerely for the opportunity to visit and enjoy it.

Immersed into my childhood times while wandering around the Fairytale Figures in Akureyri. Beautiful n creative Figures. Must visit if you are in Akureyri. Just 6 mins walk from Love sculpture!

Lovely place! Worth to visit, beautiful garden with figures. Not just for kids! So nice to remind of those fairy tales what I liked as a kid. It’s at the artist garden, entrance for free but little box is there to donate ❤️

My family & I loved visiting this artists garden! Absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Akureryi.

It’s about a 6 minute walk up the hill from the shopping area. On sidewalks.

Wow! It is clear the owner/ artist has put so much love and work into this space! We appreciated the art and gardens - for example many hydrangeas in the greenhouse I’ve never seen before. Everything is impeccably maintained! Not a weed or speck of dust in sight!
The sculptures are made out of interesting materials, which I think could be inspiring to many people- found objects like old toothbrushes, the rubber lining for drawers, steamer basket pieces, costume jewelry, webbing nylon materials. I am fond of “garbage art”- especially things found on the beach so I found the artists use of materials inspiring!

We learned a bit about Icelandic history through the signage accompanying the sculptures.

We thought it was so generous that admittance is free, we left a donation in the box designated for that purpose.

Sehr schöne Figuren und unglaublich schöner Garten. Eintritt ist kostenlos aber eine Spende ist möglich.
Sämtliche Figuren von traditionellen Vikinger & Troll sowie Märchen von Rotkäppchen oder Schneewitchen aber auch Pipilangstrumpf.

Las estatuas se encuentran en el patio de una casa privada, son hechas a mano y muchas de ellas con materiales reciclados. Son únicas y coloridas. Me encantaron.

The Fairytale Garden is in the artist’s (Hreinn Halldórsson) backyard. You enter through the driveway. Admission is free but there is a donation box to support his work. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in Akureyri Iceland.
