We were 6 friends who stayed in the Little House at Forsaela. We had a great stay and th house met all our needs. It's very cozy and historic. We found it clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. It was a bonus that there is a parking space for our rental car right next to thme house. The owners were very helpful and responsive to our questions before we arrived. As there are six single beds (3 in the attic and 3 in the basement) this is a great location for a group of friends. The location is very central, and just a few minutes walk away from Reykjavik's main shops, restaurants and bars. Highly recommend this property.

Ohhh what a great first experience with Iceland/Reykjavik this was! Hostess Hlin and her husband were superfriendly and helpful, staying up late to hand us the keys to the little appartment and showing us around. The appartment itself was so very cute. Perfectly located in the centre of town, ample parking available, just off the main shopping street but easily accessible and right around the corner from great gems like the church, Braud&Co and Rok restaurant.||Inside, everything was available - fully equipped kitchen, even a washing machine in the bathroom. It was the cutest little house and so tastefully and warmly decorated. You felt at home from the second you walked in. Both host and hostess were very keen to support eith suggestions for town or the island which was most appreciated.

I only just realized that I left a review on another site but not here. This was a lovely, extremely clean and sweetly comfortable stay. My two young daughters and i loved the traditional home but the best part were the owners. We loved the homemade breakfast prepared by Hlin each morning and enjoyed talking to her about her country and culture. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with regards to our tour information, helping us with transportation (with her husband going so far as to drive us to the bus a couple of times!). The location is very central and convenient as well.

Our hosts were hospitable, knowledgeable, and kind. The breakfast was homemade every day in a most homey dining room. The bedroom was small but cozy. Even though at one point there was one bathroom shared among six people, we never had any problems nor had to wait for the bathroom. The location is centrally located, very close to the Hallgrimskirkja church and Bus Stop 8, for those who may be traveling by tour bus. They also have bikes for rent. Would highly recommend.

Great apartment centrally located in Reykjavik. We stayed in one of the apartments inside the blue house. It was neat, clean, cozy, and very warm! Best of all, it was central to everything we needed. If you turn right, it was one block from a main street with stores, eateries, and the local grocery store. If you turned left, you went right up to the circle where the main Church is located, which coincidentally is the start of the other main street with stores, eateries, and the other grocery, which happens to be 24 hours. It is important to know where the grocery stores are because food in Iceland is very expensive. We were very grateful to have a fully stocked kitchen of utensils, plates, and pans. We cooked nearly every day.||||Also, the best way to see Iceland is to actually get out of Reykjavik on some of the tours. Forsaela, is a stop for the tour company we used Iceland Horizon. It was very nice to be picked up and dropped off at our doorstep.||||The five stars go to Hlin and Siggy. The apartment was fabulous but having the owners on site was a wonderful bonus. Check in is mid-afternoon, but our plane was landing in Reykjavik at around 7 a.m. We knew that we could not check in early, but Hlin graciously kept our luggage for us while we were able to go over to the Main Street and grab some food. By the time we returned, our apartment was ready. We were very grateful for her generosity to keep our luggage so we did not have to haul around the city. In the middle of the week, our daughter woke up sick on a day we had a tour scheduled and we needed to quickly cancel and re-book the tour. We went to the main house and in about two minutes Hlin was on the phone with company explaining our situation and got us re-booked for another day. There is no way, my husband and I could have gotten that handled that quickly. Siggy’s recommendations were fantastic. My daughter and husband thoroughly enjoyed Siggy’s advice of attending the nearby community pool. ||||The atmosphere of the courtyard was so magical with all the lights. It was a quiet retreat in the middle of a city. No noise from the main street made its way to our apartment. We felt very safe coming and going at all hours of the day or night. Great place for families to stay. The resident cats are fun to watch. Siggy greeted us daily as he worked in the gardens. It was a magical memory for our entire family. I strongly recommend that you make Forsaela your destination for Iceland. ||||We visited the first week of April 2017. With hopes of a return visit in the future!

Because of an issue with our original booking, we accidentally wound up at this lovely guesthouse near the heart of Reykjavik. Everything we wanted to reach in the city was within reasonable walking distance, but far enough away from the main streets so as to be quiet at night.

Hlin and Siggi were very welcoming hosts and they maintain some immaculate accommodations! They had great advice on local travel and transportation, and were so kind and helpful during our stay. When I come back to Iceland, I would very much look forward to staying with them again. Highly recommended!!!!

La seconda volta in Islanda, isola meravigliosa e unica, e la seconda da Hlín. Siamo stati accolti da vecchi amici e la sua ospitalità e' stata veramente speciale, piena di cortesia, consigli pratici e attenzioni. Occorre poi sottolineare che Hlín parla stupendamente bene l'italiano e questo in Islanda penso sia piuttosto raro. I suoi appartamenti sono caldi e accoglienti, dotati di ogni confort e in pieno centro. Consigliamo quindi a tutti Forsaela Apartmenthouse !

Really can’t say enough good things about Forsaela. Perfect location one block from the main shopping street in Reykjavik, but completely quiet at night. Free parking is available on site. 5 minutes or less to walk to 2 different delicious bakeries and a grocery. Your hosts have been professional tour guides and are proud Icelanders who can give you great recommendations for things to do.
