Our first experience at a Fosshotel was very pleasant. The manager provided us with answers - and great suggestions - to our many questions about activities in the area. The place is clean and very nice, and the staff very good in all regards. Our (four) dinners were not outstanding but the breakfast was awesome.

Nice hotel with location on the fjord. The room we had, not very large in size, had fjord view and was equipped with everything we needed. Bathroom quite small. Breakfast good with varied choice of sweet and savory. Restaurant good. Special thanks to the girl who during check-out (on September 11) helped us with a problem with our car.

My spouse and I spent a week in Iceland in September 2021 and knew we had to come back for a longer visit. We did so in August 2023 and dedicated two weeks. We rented a car at KEF airport planning to drive the Ring Road. We are so glad that we included a visit to the WestFjords taking the car ferry from Stykkishólmur to Brjánslækur. (We met a number of wonderful travelers on the ferry that we saw later during the course of our travels.) We spent two nights in a Superior Room at the Fosshotel Westfjords in Patreksfjörður. The accomodations were great and I can highly recommend spending time in the West Fjords at this hotel. The staff were all excellent and very helpful in guiding our travels–takk to them. (We did make the multi-hour drive on the dusty, bumpy road to the Látrabjarg Nesting Cliff and saw the last of the puffins before they head to sea for the winter.) The breakfast buffet, as we found at all the Fosshotels we stayed at on this trip, was excellent. And, what a great peaceful view just stepping outside the hotel. We miss you Iceland, and can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed our one night stay here. Hotel and staff were great. Close to some attractions in westfjords. We were blessed and had an amazing night to see northern lights here! We also want to recognize our receptionist Tatiana. We really appreciate your energy and hospitality. You were very informative and spot on about the Northern lights.

We had plans to use this hotel as a base for exploring the Westfjords and made reservations for two nights. We enjoyed our first night and found the staff very helpful at check-in. Like all the hotels we stayed at in Iceland, the bathroom was very small but adequate. The room was fine and offered a nice northern view. ||Patreksfjordur is a small town and we were sorry to see that the Bonus grocery store we read about is no longer there. We did enjoy driving around the town and it is in a pretty setting with the cliffs across the fjord. Likewise, the Látrabjarg cliffs (worth the drive) are convenient.||Sadly, the weather reports on our second day had the weather changing with several wind and ice warnings. Roads north (our planned itinerary) had already been closed or restricted. We requested we be allowed to leave early as the cancellation policy dictated that we pay for the second night. The staff was very understanding and transferred our reservation to the Foss Hotel in Stykkishólmur. Unfortunately I cannot remember the desk agent's name but she went above and beyond to accommodate us, phoning me even after we checked out to let me know she transferred the reservations. It is because of this exceptional service that I boost the rating from four stars to five.

The stay at the hotel is not bad. The staff are the best. The staff are very professional and provide excellent service. But when it comes to bedrooms, there is a lot of fatigue in bedding and furniture.||The bed is rather poor, the mattresses are worn and it is not good to lie on them. The sheets are quite old and the pillows are terrible. The furniture is not quite in accordance with the size of the room and the TV I would think was from the last century except it is a flat screen and they only came in the 21st century. But the rooms could be updated a lot.||Otherwise, the location of the hotel is excellent and that was the reason why we chose it this time, but next time something else will be chosen unless it is updated this winter.

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly. Room was nice. Was a good location to explore the Westfjords. Hotel restaurant was also very good. Amazing view from hotel. Little town gave you other options for food as well. Would recommend.

Of the 8 hotels we stayed at in Iceland, this was our least favorite. The service was least effort possible. Coffee machine at breakfast didn't work properly the entire time we were there and no one seemed to care. We had a toilet that was leaking all over the bathroom floor and not sure who designed the shower in this room, but putting a curtain in a 1X1M shower means it sticks to you the entire time you're in there. You won't have many choices in this area, but I'd look elsewhere if you can.
