Very nice, comfortable room and very nice hosts! Had an excellent stay. Tálknafjörður is worth the stay and by all means dine at Café Dunhagi.|Mjög gott, þægilegt herbergi og góðir gestgjafar! Mjög góð dvöl|Táknafjörður er þess virði að koma við og endilega borða á Café Dunhaga.

Guesthouse Bjarmaland offers clean, comfortable rooms in this quiet, out-of-the-way part of the already out-of-the-way Westfjords. The rooms are small, but adequate. Breakfast was solid.||||While shared bathroom facilities were clearly a part of the description, it is a feature we would prefer to avoid.||||If we pass through this part of Iceland again, I'd look forward to staying here if I could get the room with the private bath.

The house and the room was very clean. A great bed, television and a room of good dimension. Comfortable and cosy. The bathrooms were big and very clean as well, the showers with good quality of hot water and amount of water. There was a separate kitchen especially for guests that is great, although there was food in the fridge that was getting old, so there was a need to revise it to throw away what the guests had left behind. The guests should have the decency to do it but.. There was a nice dining room with a corner with a sofa and television, board games, books and very nice. The decoration as well very nice. Enough parking and a nice restaurant very close by. We couldn't have breakfast there because of the Covid situation.

The negative view is that we couldn't enter the room until 18h in the evening. I think it is very late, and you have to leave the room around 11 in the morning which is more or less a normal hour to leave. It was the most expensive guesthouse that we stayed in in Vestfirdir and so few hours to stay. We came around 17.10 and we were told to come back at 18:00, although in booking is says 15:00 and I had specified that we would be coming between 17-18h. I have travelled a lot and I have never received this kind of reception. We were told that it was explained evnbut I couldn't see it, and I think it is better to do something for the guests because for 50 minutes it is a shame. The normal hour to be ab7to enter the room should between 14-16, that is fair for the money you pay.

beautiful little town in the westfjords which is now one of my favourite places in the world. it's up there with the south island of new zealand scenery wise especially on a sunny day.||||Bjarmaland we arrived around 4-30pm to be told the roon would be ready around 6pm which was fine with us as hungry so went to eat. Checked in at 6pm owners very helpful and friendly. Room spotlessly clean. Simple but nice breakfast the next morning. you have to take your shoes off at the front entrance which was no issue at all for us.||||Overall very happy with choice and would recommend.

I stayed at Bjarmaland in Tálknafjörður for one night in late July to break up my drive of the Westfjords between Brjánslækur and Flateyri. ||The guesthouse is comfortable and the hosts are very nice. There are enough parking spaces available and it is easy to find. There is a kitchen for guest use and I could have done laundry if I had had enough time. For dinner I heated up my fish soup and fiskibollur that I had bought at the self service place down the road.||I got a clean and spacious double room and had a good night's sleep even though the other guests were a little loud for a while, and I enjoyed my breakfast the next morning.

Was fine when we settled in, but could have done with a better introduction from the guesthouse reception; there was no reception staff, and the phone number written in the reception was wrong ( but we found it written elsewhere correctly). Must mention when we did meet the Guest house staff, they were very friendly, and informative on the area.
The rooms were very tidy and organised, and the beds extremely comfortable.
The kitchen facilities, dining and lounge room were a bit chaotic; there was a big group of guests staying at the hostel at the same time as us, who seemed to be staying for some time, who were very messy, and did not reflect well on our experience of the place. I think when guests are staying for a longer period of time, it should be the Guest house who is responsible for making sure those guests are clearing up after themselves, and bearing in mind that it is a guest house, and not their own house.
There was not much to clean up, wash up with in the kitchen. It makes it so much easier for guests to tidy up after themselves, if there is a good supply of cleaning products available.
Tálknafjörður is a great stop-off on the way round the Westfjords, and the very approachable guest house receptionist was happy to share the location of the local thermal baths, and the public swimming pool, which was superb.

We booked this guesthouse with include breakfast for 135 euro via booking.com for stay 1 night. Before our host left the house she asked what time we want our breakfast. We agree with her to have breakfast at 8.30am it was late for us but we thought it should be ok we just have to make time on our trip for the next destination. The next morning we prepared to leave and was waiting for our breakfast till 9.05am somebody showed up and said breakfast is in a refrigerator which our host toll us at night when we wanted to put our drink to cool inside "You can 't put anything there it is for workers". So we don't touch anything inside that refrigerator also. We left without their breakfast as promised because we had to follow our trip we have planned. We contacted booking.com on 3nd Sep 2018 to get a refund for breakfast, bad thing to know they said they are just agency to advertise only, and we paid to guesthouse so they can't refund, but will contact the property if the property agree to refund to us. I feel like they only want percent from the property but don't care for the customer. Luckily the property agreed to refund some money for breakfast. But it took a long time and have to wait and have a headache more to contact booking.com several times to get money back. We stayed on 2nd Sep 2018, contacted booking.com on 3 Sep 2018, and call 2-3 times, now it's 2nd Oct 2018, still don't get any money yet. Don't know how long we have to wait.
