My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Glad’s Guesthouse, and we couldn’t have had a better place to stay in Reykjavik during this long weekend! |The owner, Dabba, is a lovely lady who changed my booking to make sure our stay would be the best. I did book the downstairs studio but as per what we needed and after some talk with her, she suggested to change my booking and have the upstairs studio. I followed her advice and it was a great decision. This studio has a private toilet and a little fridge. It is big enough for a couple and it is right next to the kitchen and shared bathroom. In the kitchen, the fridge was always full, and we had the possibility to have our breakfast there. Which is a great plus, considering the prices of everything in Iceland! Last but not least, the guesthouse is located 8 minutes away from the BSI bus terminal, and 5 minutes away from Hallgrìmskirkja. The location is great and close to all the main sightseeings of Reykjavik. If we go back to Iceland, we won’t even think about it twice, and we will definitely book again the upstairs studio of Glad’s Guesthouse!

My daughter and I stayed for 4 days here and it was a great place to stay. 10 mins from bus terminal and 7 mins from Reykjavik centre! Dabba is a great host, always on hand, plenty of breakfast foods available, very clean and comfortable! We had lots of emails prior to arriving, explaining how to access the building and info on city and surrounding area. Yes, its a shared bathroom but we never had any issues of waiting around or not being able to get in! Although its near to the city, the street was quiet and the room very comfortable (triple room) At the top of the street, 5 mins, is the Hallsgrimskirkja, which is a great reference point for getting around the city! I would definately recommend Glad`s Guesthouse for value for money, cleanliness and a great host! (I unfortunately left my purse in the room and Dabba went out of her way to return it to me back in the UK, which was really kind of her!)

I booked this property via Wow Air's booking site when I bought my plane tickets and I was very glad that I did. The location was great, within easy walking distance of the Hallgrimskirkja and the Reykjavik's main shopping district on Laugavegur St. Very clean and warm with a nice food selection for the serve-yourself breakfast kitchen. I stayed in a room last April that had a shared bath, which was the properties lone downside in that there were 3 rooms sharing one bathroom. So if you can, it is worthwhile to reserve the room with it's own bathroom.

The location for Glad's is very good and the location was clean.||But, we did not get any email confirmation from the guesthouse on how to check-in. We went to the door and knocked and other guests had to give us a phone number to reach the owner. Luckily the guesthouse on the next floor let us wait until we could reach the owner and they even gave us a cooked breakfast. When we finally got into the guesthouse, we asked about baggage storage and was told to leave our bags in the dining room, not secured. If you get the "City Studio" room, it is not like the pictures. There are no shelves, only holes in the wall were the nails were for the shelves. And the hallway leading into the room has an electric box and wires along the wall. There was a cracked window in the bedroom. There were no blackout drapes only a blind to pull down. We booked through our credit card company and the description said "private bathroom". There is a very tiny WC with the room, with a toilet and very small sink. To use the bathroom, kitchen and dining area, you exit your room to the shared hallway with the rest of the building and go into the main area of the guesthouse. Not convenient. The kitchen also does not look like the pictures, it looks like some cupboards have been removed. As for food, there was plenty the 1st day and hardly anything left on the second day. You make your own breakfast, which is not problem, as longer as there is stuff to make the breakfast. There was not daily housekeeping. When we were leaving there was another couple coming in that had no instructions on how to enter the guesthouse or retrieve keys.

Me and my boyfriend visited Reykjavík on the 15th - 19th Dec. We were emailed confirmation on how to enter the property and we're told to call owner if we wanted more towels and our rooms cleaned! She was very pleasant. ||The fridge was stocked up everyday for breakfast supplies from bread, yoghurt, various cereals, biscuits, juices and teas! This was such a lovely touch. ||The room was small but very cosy. It was very warm and sometimes had to open the window but this wasn't a problem! |The lounge is a lovely communal area but I would suggest maybe having a sofa and a table instead of two tables to make it more homely! ||Overall, it is worth the money! It's very nicely situated in between the bus station and hallgrímskirkja! Perfect 🙂

We loved our stay at Glad's while we were in Reykjavik! First impressions were great as Gabba emailled us in advance to organise our check in and gave us loads of tips about Reykjavik.||We paid a little more which meant we had our own bathroom and kitchenette, situated just at the back of the property. We arrived at about 8pm and so Gabba was not at the property, but she gave us great directions so we could check ourselves in easily!||The room was really nice, although small, and had great facilities so we could look after ourselves. ||Bus companies cannot pick up directly from here, but its only a short walk to the nearby bus stops - just a 5 minute walk to BSI or 10 minutes to Tjornin Bus Stop 2. The town centre is also just a 10 minute walk.||We found this really great value for a stay in Reykjavik! Thanks for having us!

House consists of 2 flats let by different companies. Entrance hallway dirty and uninviting, some fittings in building need repair. You don’t see the owner/staff, there is a key box outside.
Studio noisy as bed head next to street gulley/traffic ( wouldn’t be a problem if the small window was bricked-up). Upper rooms off communal kitchen behind single doors, so quiet time starts at 9pm; as soon as we walked in we were warned by guests to ‘read the rules and be quiet’.
It wasn’t a problem for our group, but may be for others.

할그림스키르캬 까지 도보 5분 정도로 가까운 좋은 위치에 있으며, 간단한 조식이 제공되며, 양념들이 제공되어 좋았고, 숙소는 깔끔했다. 방3개의 투숙객이 욕실 한개를 사용해야하고, 방 크기가 조금 작지만 우리는 편안히 잘 쉴 수 있었다.
