Esta casa de invitados es un lugar peculiar e interesante. No es un hotel! Es una casa antigua islandesa , con habitaciones pequeñas y baño amplio compartido, pero con encanto. Tienes la cocina a tu disposición en cualquier momento y un pequeño comedor. El dueño te recibe con mucha amabilidad y dispuesto a darte toda la información necesaria para conozcas mejor la cultura islandesa. Es una opción interesante para pasar una noche, especialmente si después se quiere coger el ferry a los fiordos del oeste.

I'm disgusted by the negative reviews. People shaming the decorating - Heimer brought us out a country magazine when we arrived, he should not have to justify his decorating style. I found his house beautiful. I loved the decor, i like to collect antiques myself. This is not a hotel- it is someone's home. Heimer sleeps in a tiny room behind the kitchen to allow guests the more comfortable rooms. Out of the four places we've stayed so far in Iceland this was our favorite. We felt comfortable, never awkward. Its as if you're staying at your Mom's or Grandparents house. When we got there we were sitting in the dinning room and another couple had arrived. Heimer had stepped out so we offered the couple to sit with us, they said "its too crowded"- people are the problem, not the house.||Stykkisholmur is a very nice little town, and there is a Bonus grocery store so stock up! ||The only negative I have for the Langey Guesthouse is the shower curtain should be a heavier weight so it doesnt stick to you as you shower 🙂

We arrived at Heimir's place after a road trip on what seemed to be the longest unpaved road in the world. Glad to find out that Stykkisholmur was actually a real village and not just a name marked on the map, we were even happier to meet Heimir. His place is simply charming. Our room had a view on the bay, the beds were very comfortable and the room extremely clean.There was a storm the night we stayed there but we slept like babies. The rest of the house is a jewellery, full of old and, I believe, meaningful things. I loved the kitchen and all the tools carefully placed in it. If you are not curious enough you will see just a kitchen in it. The bathroom is small, cozy and clean.You really don't need anything else from a bathroom. Do you? We kind of regreted we are not musicians. Heimir has a kind of music temple in his house. Guitars are jumping up from every corners.||If you are not hard to please and you like simply stuff and warm atmosphere you should definitely spend at least one night at Heimir's and enjoy the sleepers you are provided with upon arrival.||||Thank you for your advices Heimir and sorry we couldn't say goodbye.

My wife and I spent two night in Stykkishólmur at Langey Homestay and had a delightful time. The house is ideally located only a few minutes’ walk from the harbor and good restaurants. Our bed room had a spectacular view of Stykkishólmskirkja, the beautiful church, as well as snow dotted mountains beyond. The house has a breakfast room and the use of the kitchen. In the mornings I would walk a few minutes to the local bakery, pick up several pasteries for breakfast, make coffee in the kitchen, and sit down in the bright breakfast room. One morning, Heimer, our knowledgeable host and the house’s owner, joined us and helped map out an itinerary for our day. First up was the Viking/Sushi Cruise (Seatours) which included close approaches to many islands filled with kittiwakes, puffins and many other birds. At one point the crew threw a large net on a cable off the stern of the boat and a cable slowly brought the net back on board filled with scallops and sea urchins. The crew opened these, provided wasabi, thin sliced ginger and soy sauce – this was the freshest sushi ever! In the afternoon we toured the Snæfellsnes peninsula, and Heimer’s suggestions led us to the best views of a glacier, waterfalls, bird cliffs and immense lava flows. I recommend Langey Homestay for a true Icelandic experience.

Non è una pensione né una Gesthouse, ma una vera casa islandese, un po’ difficile da trovare, ti accoglie il proprietario molto gentile. Sembra un museo, vi perderete a guardare tutta la miriade di oggetti che ha sparso ovunque. C’à una scala stretta che porta di sopra nelle camere, piccole e spartane ma accoglienti, dimora per persone senza pretese, se volete servizi e standard di un hotel, scegliete un hotel. Si può utilizzare la sua cucina.

We stayed two nights and felt very welcome, instantly relaxed. The host is a lovely chap who went out of his way to make us feel at home. The place was clean and warm and we had a great view from our room. We could use the kitchen, which was handy for breakfast. The town is a lovely place to spend the day, some good places to eat and we can recommend the volcano museum just across the road, fascinating.

We stayed at this guesthouse for one night. It is a very nice house but probably not everyone's cup of tea as you can see by the different reviews. The host is a friendly, obliging person who has a special liking for music. He even made us breakfast which was extremely friendly of him. The rooms are rather small, but usually people stay here for one night and therefore it is absolutely sufficient. You might have a problem of finding the house, because either the road to it and the guesthouse are slightly hidden of other buildings.||||If we ever come to Stykkisholmur again, we will definitely spend a night at Langey Guesthouse again.

Siamo stati qui per una sola notte di passaggio sabato scorso durante il nostro tour dell'Island. Abbiamo speso €50 a testa, che è sostanzialmente il prezzo che abbiamo pagato nella varie strutture(ostelli od alloggi vari) che abbiamo provato, probabilmente perché abbiamo prenotato tardi. In questo caso il prezzo è alto perché la casa dava idea di scarsa pulizia e la camere minuscola, angusta, non dava una gran sensazione di pulito con l’acaro in agguato; forse il meno peggio il bagno, ma usate ciabatte, dire che sia pulito è difficoltoso Cucina inavvicinabile stoviglie ed accessori vecchi, non so se siano mai state lavate adeguatamente.
