Das Guesthouse ist gut zu erreichen und hat einen tollen Ausblick, direkt an einem Fjord. Das Haus ist nah am Hafen und Restaurants gelegen. Man kam leicht mit anderen Gästen ins Gespräch, sowie mit dem sehr netten Personal. Das Guesthouse ist nicht sonderlich modern ausgestattet, das stört jedoch wenig, denn es ist sauber, es gibt genügend Badezimmer und in jedem Zimmer gibt es ein Waschbecken. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen und können es nur empfehlen!

Beautiful guesthouse with common room and kitchen area available for all travelers. The room was big, with a private sink. Two bathrooms, with showers, are easily accessible from all rooms. Breakfast is served upstairs with a lot of options. Everything was fresh and delicious. The owner answered all of our questions and even gave us some suggestions of things to do around.

We stayed here for one night. The hosts are welcoming. The rooms are big enough for two or three people and are clean. Nice large bathroom, shared with the other guests. Also a shared toilet. To reach the rooms on the lower level, you need to be able to walk stairs.

We arrived here on a wintry morning after braving a particularly bad patch of blowing snow just as we entered the Snaeffelness peninsula and then accumulated snow on some mountain roads that prompted us to silently and hurriedly remember our last wishes just in case:-). This is a quaint seaside village with a cute lighthouse atop a craggy hill on quay side of the town. Guesthouse Olmu is quite close where you enter the town . ( from here to the lighthouse was a delightful walk of about a kilometre). The accommodations are in the basement of Alma & Ivar's home. They have about 4-5 rooms with shared WC facility. Though it may seem a bit cramped at first, it isn't actually so. The beds were spacious and the room had two luggage stands thoughtfully provided. There is no separate kitchen and dining area but kitchen gadgets and some crockery are placed right at the entrance to the facility. There is a nice den like sitting area where one can peruse Ivar's collection of books and magazines ( most in Icelandic though). Breakfast is on the ground floor ( the family's floor) though it is separate from the rest of the family. Ivar our host was quite chatty and informative about places that we could visit in the peninsula. He helpfully provided us with a detailed map and marked out sights that we shouldn't miss (Unfortunately due to the snowy weather we could only go as far as Gundarfjordur ) and the next morning during breakfast inquired about our travel plans , gave us a few tips and wished us good luck. Guesthouses especially ones where the owners live alongside are generally known for their hospitality and personal touch as opposed to hotels where efficiency and professionalism are more valued. Both are important and necessary but if you are on a tight budget and want to feel at home after a tiring day driving around, try Olmu.

This homestay-like guesthouse is run by a nice old couple that rents some rooms in the souterrain. We were welcomed very friendly and were told some stories and backround informations about Iceland. The room was nice and cozy and the beds very comfortable. It was just a bit clairaudient as we could hear the people next door talk in their room. ||There's one bathroom with a shower and two rooms with toilet and sink. You can eather book breakfast on top or use the kitchen and bring your own stuff. We did the first and found a rich buffet prepared for us in the first floor, with fish, cheese, ham, eggs, jam, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee, tea and juice.||I'd book it again!

we stayed one night at this guesthouse during our trip. Although this at first sight it may appear rather small and basic this was actually a really lovely guesthouse with spacious bedroom and two large bathrooms. It was clean and located in a nice town. Our hosts were very informative about the local area and keen to share their knowledge.

Carina, il proprietario è simpatico, gentile e cordiale..ci ha consigliAto un ristorantino davvero ottimo di fronte al porto.
La camera è pulita e accogliente, ci sono:
Lavatrice, microonde, asciugacapelli. Sul nostro piano (quattro camere da due a 4persone) ci sono due bagni e una doccia in comune.
Le scarpe si lasciano all'ingresso, come in tutte le guesthouse/ostelli islandesi.
C è un piccolo divano con tv.

Great place! We stayed just one night here, and had a good experience. The owner is very nice, and responsive to our questions over email. When we arrived he greeted us and made nice conversation, and gave us insight into the area, and about Iceland. He also warned us about the weather the next morning. The room was very nice, and restroom facilities down the hall were very clean and large in size. Fairly good location. We walked to dinner and all the way out to the port to explore the town.
