Easy check-in - emailed to tell me which room and that the key was inside. This suited me, but I see that other reviewers do not like this. It was easy to find and parking was easy. |Sadly we arrived once it was already dark and had to leave at 7.30am to go whalewatching so we didn't get to spend much time there. The restaurant was not open (I knew that in advance) and aside from a fridge, kettle, some tea/coffee and a couple of glasses there were no self-catering facilities (I also knew this in advance). |We had a room with a kingsize bed on the ground floor and a couple of small singles on a mezzanine with a very low roof...but this was a fun place to sleep and there were powerpoints up there as well. |We didn't use the hot tub as we had come straight from the Sky Lagoon, but there were dressing gowns if we had wanted to do this. Good shower as well. |Would stay again, although for a bit longer!

Siamo stati in questa struttura a fine febbraio e purtroppo siamo arrivati di notte a causa di ritardi aerei. Il Village è molto caratteristico e la maggior parte delle stanze sono ben posizionate con vista sul mare. Ma non la nostra.....e per fortuna che appositamente avevo prenotato una camera superior. Le due porte davano una sul parcheggio e l'altra su un prato con vicino strada e altro parcheggio. La stanza, con richiami carini a pesca e pescatori, mancava di tenda su una delle porte e il bagno aveva un lavandino talmente piccolo e scomodo per lavarsi, che si faceva difficoltà anche a lavarsi i denti. Mancando sul posto la reception ed essendo arrivati tardi, non abbiamo potuto cercare di farci cambiare stanza. Peccato perchè avevo buon aspettative a riguardo.

Really cute, atmospheric location on an Icelandic peninsula with incredible views! the rooms were modern and cosy and warm, while the snow lay deep outside. We jumped in the hot tub and made friends then into the sauna before a good nights sleep. This place has lots of character and a big heart. We were just sorry to miss the restaurant open days, it looked very sweet from the outside. Only 20 minutes from Reykjavik. We would highly recommend.

We arrived quite late and were very careful about which room we booked. Despite this, we didn’t get the room we wanted or the one shown in the photo during the booking. This wasn’t a tragedy, but no one helped us, and we were too tired to argue. The bigger problem was that the heating was on, making the room at least 28 degrees Celsius (82.4°F). Unfortunately, it wasn’t a very pleasant night. That’s how it went for us. The room was clean, but small and hot. It was useless to turn off the heating.

We loved our stay here! It was so calm and quiet and we enjoyed the best sleep, while also being conveniently located near Reykjavik for our daily activities.

Good things: Gorgeous location and scenery, rooms were very nicely presented and cosy. Good parking (car is essential to get here). Very quiet, we barely saw or heard any other guests which we liked (possibly due to time of year).||Bad things: Lack of hot tubs and sauna availability and subsequent poor customer service. On our second night (of three), we went to the hot tubs and sauna area to find that the two hot tub covers had been left off, meaning they were too cold to use, and they were only half full of water. The sauna was completely off. We booked through Expedia, so messaged the Fisherman's Village via there to let them know. We received a quick response apologising and saying they would get their staff to address these issues. The next night, we returned to find the hot tubs and sauna in the exact same condition as before - lids off, half full, sauna off. We again messaged management to inform them of this and did not receive a response (and still haven't). We were very disappointed that we couldn't use these facilities as the Fisherman's Village specifically advertises them, and they are part of the price. When we returned home, I contacted Expedia to request a partial refund of my stay because we paid for something we could not use. Expedia tried to contact the Fisherman's Village on our behalf, and after a few days informed us that the Fisherman's Village were not responding to them, so they could not approve a refund. I then sent an email to the Fisherman's Village directly, explaining everything that had happened and requesting that they approve our partial refund request via Expedia. I have had no response whatsoever. I am very disappointed in this because the stay was otherwise lovely. Other reviews have also mentioned this same issue with hot tubs and sauna. ||Also, there doesn't appear to be any staff onsite that you could contact directly to resolve any issues.

A little out of Reykjavik but a brilliant property. Right on the waterfront and you get a view if the city from the other side. Villas are absolutely beautiful and 2 adults and 2 kids can stay easily. Gives you a good peace of mind. You have options of hot pool and a restaurant as well. However this is off route and you need a car for sure.
