It's the far end of the Earth. It's the ultimate edge as there is an endless Ocean to the west, and no more land. There are the seagulls and the sheep and everything that usually goes with them. There is the smell of a wooden house and the smell of the last century. There is no flow of time and no hot water, that's for sure.|Come prepared and you may feel the beauty. We family with two teenagers have succeeded in this nontrivial task and had a happy stay here.

NEVER AGAIN.

The host was really nasty towards us.
The road didn’t have clear signs, we couldn’t find the reception, and we got scolded for parking <5mins at the front door to drop off our bags. NO WIFI IN THE ROOM!!!! The host asked us to sit outdoors in super cold temperatures and strong winds to reach their wifi. The room was quite cold even though we visited in June! She charged us extra for pillow and blankets, threatened to charge us for cleaning fees, and the shower was tiny with shower curtain sticking to our bodies. Also, the host messaged us before the trip that bed linen costs 2700 per person, but ended up charging us 3200 per person. When asked why, she said it’s this season’s price, even though she didn’t tell us beforehand. Super stressful stay.

Die Hænuvik Cottages mögen auf den ersten Blick wie eine Unterkunft aus vergangenen Zeiten wirken - vllt daher auch die leider vielen negativen Bewertungen auf so manchen Portalen. Wenn man jedoch auf der Suche nach dem wahren Island ist, dem Island welches in atemberaubender Natur das echte isländische Lebensgefühl vermittelt, dann ist man hier genau richtig! Man braucht nicht immer puren Luxus! Hier findet man alles, was man braucht: Ein bequemes Bett, eine heiße und zudem frisch renovierte(!) Dusche und ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Häuschen - und das mitten in den abgelegensten Regionen der Westfjorde.
Auch die Gastgeber sind sehr sympatische und zuvorkommende Menschen. Ist man freundlich so erhält man pure Herzlichkeit zurück und darf sogar die Schäfchen auf dem Hof mitfüttern. Für uns ein Highlight und alles in allem genau richtig! Schade, dass die meisten Bewertenden hier dies in unserer Schnelllebigkeit übersehen und vergessen haben. Wir kommen defintiv wieder und können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen!

Nie przyjeżdżajcie tu! Śmierdząca chata, brak ciepłej wody (brak instalacji do ciepłej wody) i brak prysznica. Przed drzwiami domku atakują nas ptaki które bronią swoich gniazd. No dramat 🫣 nie wspominając że właścicielka to wredne babsko.

I had to pay extra for the linen cover etc. I already knew about that. so it was not a problem for me.

The day we(couple) wanted to stay at, there was no room left except the big room which is for 10 people maybe.

I made a reservation anyway, and I really liked it.

at first, I was worried a lot, because there were a lot of bad reviews. but the cottage itself was good.

I don’t know about the winter time. It would be cold staying there. (I stayed there in July.)
It was a good time.

(I know it is a bit pricey, but think about it. There is nothing around the cottage. maybe it has to be…)

Me and my friend stayed there for one night. The location is literally in the middle of nowhere, the house we had was the big one with the red roof. It was furnished with all the essential things and it was very characteristic! We all loved it! Although it was missing hot water the atmosphere was quite unique, it seemed to live in 1900! The house is fantastic, just very tiny but charming! ||We all thing that the place is fantastic and the owners are nice and kind! ||It is true that the houses are in the middle of a tern nesting field and you have to be careful, but it is part of the experience! ||The only thing that could be improved is the rental of the linen, 2800 ISK is a bit too much and of course people can manage no hot water (and shower that is located by the reception), but linen (pillows/duvets) should be included in the rate, this is the only thing that we might point it out. ||There is a cleaning fee too if people leave the house dirty. ||Of course, bring something to eat, water is amazing, but there are no shops at all and there is nothing to eat there.||Overall we had a fantastic stay, I personally think I will be back there next times I will be around Làtrabjarg. ||Despite all the bad reviews we had a great stay there, away from time and space! 😀

Great location if you like remote, beautiful scenery, lots of birds (a colony of arctic terns is growing their young ones on the premises), please dip in the clean and crisp ocean! Houses are neat and clean. All facilities are available, hot water, shower and kitchen facilities. Even wi-fi is there if unstable, but remember location! If you want a made up bed you can get one for a modest fee. Our hosts were very nice and helpful. Please note that you need to bring all food and drinks as there are no services available. Close attractions are Rauðisandur, Látrabjarg and the museum at Hnjótur. Very good value for money. I will choose this place again next time and stay in the cottage on the beach!

La dueña es maleducada y sin respeto al cliente. Nos quiso cobrar 145€ por limpiar la casa y 60€ por la ropa de cama y en la reserva no venía nada de eso. Nos vio en la calle perdidos y no salió a saludar sino que se enfadó por estar perdidos y conducir por donde en teoría no se podía. En la casa se pasa frío , no llega el wifi y no tiene barbacoa como dice. Las camas son incómodas. Muy caro para la calidad del servicio.
