Haven't stayed in the hotell but i visited this place for pizza with some guys. It was low tourism season.
There were many of us. While we were still eating the owner/manager came to ask about who is going to pay or something like that but in icelandic. I did not understand what she said. One of us asked that maybe we could speak in english? She (manager) dismissed him with recentful "ahhh engelska" and did not continue with the conversation with him and basicly turned her back to him. Thankfully we had a couple of icelanders with us that she was willing to talk to. She had this feminist looking millitary hairdue that spoke a lot about her mindset.
It was the first time that we saw her and i dont believe that we managed to do anything bad that could upset anyone.
Ultranationalist in tourism buisness. Be aware.

The best restaurant in the town! If you miss some Asian food or want something different from burger and pizza, this is your best choice, a 3mix Thai dishes. It has salad, spring rolls, fried shrimps(a lot), fried chicken noodle(which I found the best), rice and two sauces. Totally cost only 2900kr, which can fully comfort your stomach by the Thai chef here. I will definitely come again?

We booked Hotel Capitano after getting our dates wrong and we had to cancel our original hotel as a result. We couldn't change the date because they were sold out. However, when we pulled up to the hotel, it was partly under construction. Barriers in the entry, windows were worn on half of the hotel. ||We walked in and they were calculating $150 US to Kronas. Our room was upstairs over the entry. The view was spectacular, a direct ocean view. The shower was the tiniest shower I have ever seen. But everything worked. Bonus. ||However, at around 11:30pm the noise started. There was karaoke, chatter and laughter. We figured this was a small town, so this must be the gathering place. It got quiet around 1:30ish. ||We awoke the next morning for our free breakfast. Toast, jam, butter, coffee. That's it. ||The staff apologized for the noise, stating it was a bridal shower. We didn't complain, the price was cheaper than most hotels around. ||However, when we got the bill notification for the room charge it came out to be $175US. hmmmm. We moved on by then, and just chalked it up to help the economy. Watch your charges!

We arrived in the midst of the heavy metal festival. Kata the friendly manager had worried that it would be noisy however it wasn't and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Interesting history to this hotel which has been renovated internally and external renovations are being completed. We could park the hire car at the rear of the hotel. Room was comfortable and clean with bathroom. Breakfast was good and all the staff we met were very friendly and interesting to speak to.

The hotel is centraly located near the main street. The stuff is very nice, the rooms are clean and big enough. The hotel itself would need some renovation. There were no stuff in the morning when we had breakfast, so the guests need to take plates by themselves, when we ran out of bread, we were wondering by ourselves over the kitchen, looking for some more bread, so that was not really proffessional.

We were staying up the road but decided to have a meal here. It was a beautiful home cooked meal. We had pan fried cod and Arctic char. The cod was cooked to perfection as was the Arctic char. The waitress even asked me when she should stop filling my glass of wine. Having being travelling for 2 weeks now I would rate this as the best meal I've had. It touched my heart!!

first impressions was "uh-oh" as the sign said call a cell number to check in, we had no cell phone - but staff let us in, once in, the rooms were great, clean, big. the owner was charming and the best part of the morning was having coffee with him and hearing about his life and the village. breakfast was great and there is great hiking at the end of the town (east) small shops and coffee shops. Great stay for a down day to soak in real Icelandic life. would stay again in a heartbeat.

Small and noisy rooms. Unfortunately there is a rather strong fish smell coming from the nearby factory. TV in the room was also not working due to a missing remote control. Breakfast was not what you would expect for the price. Over all I would not recommend a stay there.
