This is a small family run hotel located in the centre of the very small and quiet town, opposite the fish processing plant (not that the plant caused any noise or smell whilst we were there).|Rooms were rather small but they were clean. Vertical blinds are not great in a ground floor room but they kept the light out ok. |There is free coffee in the dining room which is good because some of the sachets in the room facilities were well beyond best before date (~3 years!).|Breakfast was usual cold buffet and it was nice and there was plenty of it. We didn’t take the evening meal in the hotel.|

If you are doing a trip off the beaten track and need stop over in Vopnfjorour then Hotel Tangi your location! The owners who run the hotel are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are on the small side, basic but very clean. The blinds are not great for blocking out the light from the late summer sun sets ...we only realised this on this stay as our other hotels had ‘Black out’ curtains. We had a room at the back and I would recommend this as the front rooms look onto a fish factory. Dinner was ex the freezer and filled the gap. Once of use had fish and other a burger and the burger one the day. We felt were pricey for what you got. Breakfast basic but got the day off to a start. Does the trick for one night

This was probably the most basic hotel we stayed in on our two week trip, however, the owners were very welcoming and friendly, the food was decent and there were a variety of choices. Breakfast was a little more basic, but again fine for one night. The rooms were modern and functional but not very large, so two decent sized suitcases was a big of a jigsaw, but the rooms had most things you need. The only downside was we were at the front of the hotel and only had venetian/slatted blinds on the windows, which were curling at the edges due to heat, and so didn't cut out the light very well. Considering the hotel is opposite a fish processing plant which runs 24/7, there was little noise. The town is a bit out of the way, but if you are doing a island road trip, it's a decent stopping point and fine for a one night-stay over.

This hotel is a bit off the beaten track though it is worth going to Vopnafjordur just to drive along the 917 over the mountains. This is a basic hotel but the rooms are spotlessly clean, the wifi strangely was the best reception we had in Iceland , and we had a good nights sleep. The rooms are quite small but contain flat screen TV, desk , cupboards and bedside lights. Coffee making is available in the hall outside. The bathrooms were also fairly small but perfectly adequate with hairdryer etc,. As there appears to be nowhere else to eat in the small town we ate in the hotel. The menu is fairly limited specialising in either pizzas or burgers. We chose the burgers and they were cooked to order. Breakfast was a buffet consisting of toast, cereals and some cold meats. The hosts who not only own the hotel but do all the cooking were delightful and extremely friendly. The hotel is nothing special but we have absolutely no complaints about our stay

160€ per una camera minuscola con bagno in comune! Abbiamo chiesto in reception di avere una stanza con bagno privato e ci hanno detto che erano tutte esaurite quando invece su Booking la davano ancora disponibile. Bagno in comune abbastanza pulito, ma la doccia proprio no! |Capisco che è difficile trovare un hotel economico in Islanda ma questo é davvero un furto! Siamo stati in hotel molto migliori alla stessa cifra. Questo è un ostello più che un hotel!

The hotel is just opposite the small harbour and contains as well a small restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms a very clean. The only negative point is the small bathroom with only one toilet and one shower for the whole first floor (which contains about 12 rooms with double beds). To less in the morning.

Due to that we have to refill our fuel we don't used he restaurant for a dinner rather we ate at the gas station in the town. The included breakfast was rich and varied.

The wifi is free an depending from the count of users fast. So altogether we can recommend this hotel.
