Booked this hotel because most reviews say it’s in central location and quiet. What we experience were not so. We got room upgraded to city view room at the highest floor, but it was noisy at most nights that we couldn’t sleep well. We needed to use earplugs. Shower cubicle is only half-partitioned, so bathroom floor would get wet after a shower. Location is good indeed, many restaurants/shops nearby. Bonus is right downstair.

First of all, I would like to say that I can't understand the negative reviews here at all. If you expect the American annoying over politeness, you shouldn't go to Iceland. And why do you need a nice view? Go out into the city, there are plenty of views. The rooms aren't huge, sure, but there's enough space for everything. And you didn't really expect to sleep in a glass house, did you? It would have been fun to watch you there. But seriously, I stayed here for a week and felt very comfortable. The rooms are cozy, the service is friendly and the bar in the building is really good. The location right in the center is great. You can walk everywhere in a few minutes. I would gladly book here again when I am back in Reykjavik. And if you are there try the duck confite, it's really great

Perfect hotel for exploring the city right near the cathedral, and for taking trips around Iceland, about 20 minutes walk from the main bus station. The rooms were simple and small but very clean, modern and comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Exactly what we needed for our three night trip.
We didn't use the breakfast (table service but there weren't that many options).

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Von. It is centrally located and an easy walk to the main sights and restaurants in Reykjavik. There is also a market next door to stock up on essentials. The room was spotless and the bathroom/shower were amazing! Everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful with whatever questions we had. It was also very nice to be able to get a drink or something to eat at the attached restaurant after a long day on tours. Thy only things could use some improvement were the pillows being very flat and a bit more lighting in the rooms.

원래 가려고 했던 곳이 친구말로는 너무 좁다고 해서 여기로 왔는데 깨끗하고 좋았어요. 새벽에도 리셉션 열려 있고 바로 옆에 마트도 있어서 그때그때 필요한 물건은 쉽게 살 수 있어요. 룸서비스도 좋은 편. 기대 이상입니다.

Hotel Von has a really sleek lobby and reception area that sort of belies the state of their actual rooms. That's not to say that the rooms here are shabby or antiquated in the slightest, but perhaps you'd expect a bit more after walking through such an opulent section of the building.

Our room was clean and tidy and stocked with all the amenities you could need. It veered on the smallish side though, and our view faced a courtyard where we could look into other people's windows (though this could have been an adjacent apartment or office building). But nothing some blackout curtains can't solve.

As we had an early flight to catch, we didn't get to experience a full night's rest here but it was quiet and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars and walking distance to landmarks like the flea market, art museum, and Hallgrimskirkja Church.

The hotel is located next to a supermarket, which makes it convenient to pick up groceries. If you're only staying for a night, it's adequate. However, it’s about a 10-minute walk to bus stop #9, which feels a bit far.

This was our first visit to Reynkavik and I had no idea where to stay. I picked Hotel Von because it was close to the Sundholl pool. I’m so happy I did! Hotel Von was very conveniently located and allowed us to walk easily to all of our tours, both in the city and to bus stop 9. Our visit began with us arriving early in the morning, very tired from an overnight flight from the US. Thankfully, we were able to check into our room right away, allowing us to take a much needed nap, and we even got an upgraded room. The room was perfect for our needs. The entire staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The options for breakfast were just right and we took advantage of it every morning.|My only disappointment was that while there was coffee and tea in the room, there was no creamer or sugar.|Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our stay and will be sure to book with you again if/when we return.
