This was one of the best houses we have ever stayed in. It was a very modern house, extra spacious inside and outside, with great character. It had a jacuzzi and even a steam room in a separate space. The living room and kitchen were so well designed, like from a magazine. The house is in a large condo area so we had access to various amenities and two restaurants. The main one on the second floor offered islander food and it was fabulous. Staff was also very friendly, everything went very smoothly.

I can't thank the Hotel Manager enough! Iceland was experiencing unprecedented weather with -20 temperatures. We had booked a lodge with a hot tub but because of the cold, the pipes had frozen. Naturally we were disappointed, it was my 50th birthday and we had visions of seeing the Northern lights from the tub. The Hotel Manager went way and above what we expected, he moved us to another lodge and personally oversaw the filling of the new hot tub, ensuring it reached the right temperature. At 9pm whilst in the tub we saw aurora borealis! What a memory! Thank you!

We had a nice stay at the Husafell Holiday homes, with a few caveats. The greeting was not the warmest, the person at the Activity Center was pretty clueless and the house was not marked... so the first impression wasn't the best. We then searched everywhere for the 2nd bathroom in the house... and it was out on the deck? For a 3 bedroom house to have 1 bathroom inside and the other on the deck is a bit odd and should be mentioned at the outset. My main quip, though, is that the pool is NOT included in your stay - whether in a house or the hotel. It's $25. The Canyon Baths are around $70, but I get that. It's off property and you sort of need a guide. But I've stayed at a ton of places over the last 40 years. This is the first to charge for the pool. Come on. ||Other than that, the property is beautiful, the restaurant is outstanding, and there is a ton to do in the area. ||But the pool, man... I just can't get past it. $25 a person!

The holiday homes are extremely close to the Hotel Husafell. Well within walking distance. They are laid out in a configuration that provides a nice, quiet stay. You can drive up to many of the holiday homes and park.

Booked 2 nights accommodation at Husafell Holiday Homes to catch the northern lights. The selling point of the accommodation is that there will be notification call to the guests when the northern lights were spotted. However, during our 2 nights accommodation there, there was no call made to us. Guess what? We spotted the northern lights ourselves at the Hut and we did not even receive any notification call from the reception. When we asked the reception the next morning, she mentioned that she did not spot the northern lights. How is it possible that we spotted the northern lights and not the hotel when the hotel is supposed to notify the guests? For those who want to catch the northern lights, I suggest other hotels and we are utterly disappointed with Husafell holiday homes for their service. ||||I urge the hotel management to contact me to explain what happened and what’s the reason for the non notification.

We rented Holiday home Villa #3.

The whole experience was terrible. We specifically rented this unit for the private hot tub, but it was nonfunctional. Grill was disgusting. Included washer and clothes dryer did not get clothes dry (which was nice after washing a load and left with wet clothes).

No support. Number for assistance was the adjacent hotel who informed us they just hand out the keys!

Run (at least from unit #3) and look for a place with good reviews and proper support when issues arise.
