(English below) Í tilefni afmælis míns um daginn gistum við hjónakornin á sveitasetrinu Kolkuósi. Dásamlegur gististaður, mikið mæli ég með því að gista þarna. Þetta sögufræga hús hefur verið gert upp af miklum hagleik. Í húsinu samtvinnast nútíma glæsileiki og afbragðs hönnun við andvara Íslandssögunnar, en staðurinn á sér aldalanga sögu. Í nútímanum er maður einn í heiminum þarna, ekkert áreiti, bara friðsældin, brimið og yndisleg náttúra. Kolkuos.is
As a birthday journey me and my husband stayed over night at the residential house at Kolkuós. Wonderful accommodation, I recommend highly to stay there. The old and historic house has been restored in a luxurious way with good eye for details. In the hotel one sees modern elegance and great eye for design blend together with the spirit of the area, but the history of the area is as long as Iceland's history. Today us the modern people are alone in the world there, no hazzle, just peace, the ocean and the wonderful nature. Kolkuos.is

Ein traumhafter Ort!
Die Lage ist atemberaubend. Das Haus liegt direkt am Wasser und ist über eine lange, einsame Straße zu erreichen.
Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Haus verfügt über eine Gemeinschaftsküche, sodass man sich etwas zu essen kochen kann. Von Toaster bis Waffeleisen ist alles vorhanden.
Das Frühstück ist liebevoll hergerichtet. Früh kommt der Besitzer und deckt den Tisch mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück ein. Er hat für uns sogar Waffel gebacken!
Eine absolute Empfehlung von uns! Wir kommen gern wieder!!!

I stayed here with my mother during our trip around Iceland. This was our last night before returning to Reykjavik and it was hands down my favourite place we stayed. The house is lovely, the room was spacious and warm and the bed very comfy. What really makes this accommodation stand out is its location, right on the beach with beautiful views across the sea. It's very remote so there's no light polution and we were able to see the northern lights.|There is no TV or wifi available which didn't bother me as I was more interested in enjoying the scenery and just chill.|Breakfast is available between 8-9am and all the guests sit around one big table which was nice as we ended up chatting and sharing our travel experiences.|If I come back to Iceland I would definitely want to stay at this magical place again.

Wer es ein wenig einsam und romantisch mag, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Toll eingerichtetes Haus direkt an der Küste mit 4 Zimmern. Vermieter sehr freundlich und bei der Frühstückszeit flexibel.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichhaltig. Vermieter hatte es selbst zubereitet. Adrett mit einer Schürze gekleidet, sah er aus wie ein englischer Buttler.

Die 6 km Anfahrt über eine „Gravelroad“ ist kein Problem.

Fou Fou

Einer der bezaubendsten Orte, die ich je gesehen habe. Völlige Einsamkeit, man fühlt sich wie der einzige Mensch auf Erden, was man auf Island ohnehin öfter mal glaubt. Aber das hier ist die perfekte Kulisse für alle die genau solche Zustände lieben. Das ganze Haus ist liebevoll und modern eingerichtet, ich wollte gar nicht mehr weg. Für mich sogar 10⭐️ wert ?

Where Wild

Remote, peaceful and beautiful bed and breakfast with only 4 rooms.
It's a long drive in from the main road and well hidden so that you feel you've taken a wrong turn but at the end is a small oasis directly on the water, on land with some of the oldest Viking heritage in Iceland.
This is the perfect place to take an extra day between the hectic tourist sightseeing and soak in the quiet.

First we had problems to find the guesthouse, coming from the north, you have to go longer south then you think, then you see the sign and drive a long gravel road…
The guesthouse is completely renovated, wonderful rooms, a big and good stuffed living-room. So was the kitchen, stuffed not only with microwave, but fully equipped. The guesthouse is far away from the street, so it is absolutely quiet, we slept very well, house has 4 rooms, 3 we’re booked, but even nothing to hear from the neighbors. Directly located at the shore, stunning views!
But next morning we learned the host, he prepared an excellent breakfast, one of our best experiences in the last two weeks!
