La struttura non è una struttura ricettiva; più che altro sembra un garage riorganizzato a hostel; le camere sono un ammasso di letti dove è impossibile muoversi ne tantomeno aprire una valigia. I bagni sono scomodi, le tazze sporche di calcare e inoltre mancava la luce dello specchio in tutti e due i bagni, ma non fulminata, proprio mancante l’applique con vista fili elettrici.
La posizione può essere buona in quanto è uno degli hotel più a Nord, ma non forse c’è di meglio andando oltre.

quand on va dans le NE d el Islande il n y a pas enormement de touristes (tant mieux) et peu d hebergement. A Kopasker, minuscule village au bord de la mer, cette geuesthouse est parfiate. Le soir ou nous y sommes allés nous étions les seuls residents L accueil du proprietaire est sympa, on dispose de toute sa maison, cuisine tres bien equipée, salon, bibliotheque. Les chambres sont grandes et les salles d eau communes sont impeccables et comme partout , c est d une grande propreté. Il faut prevoir ses repas que l on peut faire a la cuisine ( cest une vraie guesthouse, pas un hotel restaurant . Le village dispose d une epicerie qui fait brasserie et vend des pizzas (tres bonnes) mais attention çà ferme à 18h et ce n est pas ouvert tous les jours. N hesitez pas a y sejourner, hors des sentiers battus, et allez faire la randonnée de Raudanes cote est de la presqu ile, c est magnifique.

This hostel has small rooms, shared bathrooms, small kitchen, and a large common area. The rooms are well organized with shelves and a desk. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The kitchen is quite small, but there was room to prepare our dinner even though we were sharing with one other person. The common area is filled with tables, comfortable seating, and lots of books. The location is quiet because the village is small. The hostel was quiet because there were not many other guests. We enjoyed staying here.

This hostel almost seemed like a families house, where the rooms opened onto a shared common room. As the world cup was on, the owner spent the evening with some other travelers and myself watching the semi-finals. The room was small but clean and the house was lovely. I was quite comfortable for the evening. My favorite part was the location. At the end of the street is the view of a stunning lighthouse on the water. I highly recommend a walk around town.

Auf unserem Trip durch Nord- und Ostisland brauchten wir spontan eine Unterkunft in Kopasker. Im HI Hostel dort klappte das sofort. Ich wartete vor dem Haus und lernte "Kissi" kennen, denltender heiseren Kater des Hostel Besitzers. Katzen in Island in dieser abgeschiedenen Gegend sind wohl genauso "unique" wie ihre Leute. Ein bisserl rau, ruppig und abwartend und nach kurzer Zeit abolut offen und nahbar. Im Hostel gibt es auf einer Ebene einige wenige Zimmer, ein absolut sauberes, neues Bad und Klo und eine Küche, die alle (inklusive Kühlschrank) benutzen dürfen. Der große Esstisch ist in Benedikts Wohnzimmer, wo er eine große Platten- und Büchersammlung hat. Man darf alles sehen, lesen und hören! Kater "Kissi" ist natürlich auch IM Haus. Benedikt ist ein sehr ruhiger und zurückhaltender Gastgeber. Man fühlt sich bei ihm zuhause. Man kann allerdings nur in bar bezahlen! Er nimmt auch Euro oder Dollar.
Und bitte: Wie fast überall in Island: Schuhe am Eingang ausziehen!
Der Sonnen"untergang" (Juni) am kleinen schwarzen Strand im Ort war unbeschreiblich schön!

Wir sind spontan hier untergekommen, weils uns zum Campen zu kalt war. Auch ohne Reservierung wurden wir herzlich empfangen und bekamen ein schönes, sauberes Zimmer mit weichen Betten. Auch das Bad war sehr sauber und es gab sogar eine Fußbodenheizung. Benedikt, der Host, war freundlich und hat mit uns geplaudert, wir durften auch morgens etwas später auschecken weil wir noch mit frühstücken beschäftigt waren. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, und es gab einen Gemeinschaftsraum mit vielen Sitzplätzen, Karten und Büchern.||Zu beachten: nur Barzahlung! Wir hatten grade noch genug Bargeld für das Zimmer, gut möglich dass die nächste Möglichkeit zum Abheben weiter weg gewesen wäre. Allerdings waren die Zimmer deutlich günstiger als andere Optionen - gerade bei dem Preis ein so gutes Hostel zu kriegen hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Echt alles top!

This hostel and in particular Benedikt our host has been just wonderful. If you really want to understand Iceland and its people, stay for a couple of days in one place, get the spirit, talk to the people and see how they manage life in remote areas. This cozy place in Kopasker and lovely Benedikt offers it all.|We certainly will come back.|Do not forget to visit the Earthquake center across the street, the Folk museum near the church and the beautiful Lighthouse. The only supermarket is meeting place for everybody, good selection of all you need and great place to chat with locals.

This hostel was just what we needed when we found ourselves in stranded in tiny Kopasker due to unpredictable Icelandic weather. Host Benedict was very kind and helpful. Great room, kitchen, and bathroom. Great value.||||The place is across the street from the town library, which has a great exhibit on the earthquake in the area in 1970.
