Myself and my boyfriend stayed here in march this year for 4 nights. |I must point out that I have never stayed in a hostel or a guesthouse before and so I was very apprehensive about staying here and expected the worst. I expected it to be dirty, with bugs and inconsiderate travellers but I was pleasantly surprised. ||We stayed on the second floor and had a nice little room with a double bed and a set of bunk beds. The bathroom was just down the hall and there was also another one on the opposite side.|It was freezing when we were in Iceland and the property was always hot and warmed you up quickly. The room and bed were clean and no bugs to be seen. The bathroom was okay but the shower was a little smelly in my opinion. |Although we never used this facility there was a kitchen equipped with everything you needed if you wanted to make your own food instead of eating out and a supermarket was just around the corner. ||The guesthouse is about 25-30 minute walk from the Main Street and area of Reykjavik, you get to walk along the sea front which offers amazing views so it doesn't feel like a long walk at all. ||My only main criticism is that it is very noisy. The guests who were there when we were there weren't particularly rowdy or noisy, they were just eating their tea or pottering about in their rooms but we could hear every last thing said or done. The walls must be very thin so if you are trying to get an early night or have a lie in you might have some trouble. ||Overall it is nice little guesthouse which is reasonably priced in a very expensive place.

The Laugabjarg Guesthouse was a perfect place for our family of three to stay during our visit to Iceland. The host (and owner) of the guesthouse is a wonderful, thoughtful man. We only had a very short time to visit Iceland and he really helped us make the best of it. When we arrived at 11:00 AM and told him we needed to leave by 5:00 PM the next day, he thought deeply about the best plan for us, and then quickly made calls to check schedules and availability, and arranged for us to take an incredible afternoon sightseeing tour of the Golden Circle. He carefully showed us on a map, as he marked it up for us, places nearby where we could walk, get food, and even use the public hot springs. He then made phone calls and arranged the logistics to get my wife out for a horse ride the next morning and back in time time to catch the 5:00PM flight. We had a great relaxing soak in the outdoor hot springs (3 minute walk) with lots of temperatures to choose from, and very clean. You can also easily walk along the scenic waterfront to town for dining.||||The shared kitchens and bath are beautifully finished in tile and varnished wood, with radiant heated floors. The bedrooms are freshly painted white with a nice big window. The rooms and common areas are immaculately clean, with coffee available, and a nice big refrigerator. ||||The Flybus or Grayline bus will take you right from the airport door to door to Laugabjarg guest house and back again.||||We definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed here for ten days with our children and friends. The room was spacious and clean and you had use of two kitchens. We stayed on the ground floor which was handy for the bathroom/shower. Shower was good and hot. We were able to cook our own meals which helped as Iceland can be very expensive for food. Baldur and his wife were lovely and very informative. They also do your laundry for you if you need any done. The swimming pool is just accross the road and it is fabulous! Hot pots and kids pool, and saunas. Good hot dog stand just outside it too. There is a supermarket just around the corner but it's a 10/11 which is not cheap. Best to go to Kronar or Bonus. 20 min walk into town but bus stop is just on the corner. Will definitely visit again.

We booked this spot because it was listed in TripAdvisor as a B&B and we discovered that it wasn't what we expect in a B&B. We learned after arriving that there was no breakfast provided -- however, there is an adequately supplied kitchen and the grocery store (Kronen) is about a mile away so we hiked up there and got supplies and did just fine. The shared bath is also not what we expected -- but worked out. The hot water is very hot since it comes out of their geothermal hot water supplies but it also has a faintly sulphur smell to it. The cold water supply is very cold and does not have the sulphury smell or taste to it. The room was clean and utilitarian. The folks that we met who were also staying there were fascinating. The owners were helpful. Baldur and his wife (who is from Colombia, South America, and speaks Spanish in addition to Icelandic and English) were more than happy to help us make reservations for buses, had recommendations for dining out nearby, etc. Although it was not at all what we were expecting it worked out and was very convenient for excursion pick ups. It is walking distance to grocery store, restaurants, bakery and public swimming pool/hot pots if that is your 'thing'. We did not do the public swimming so have no opinion on that. It was good to be able to use the kitchen to make our lunches before our excursions as eating out in Iceland is very costly. My husband and I spent about $36 at the grocery store and got eight meals for both of us out of that. In contrast we bought ONE bowl of vegetable soup with a few pieces of lamb in it one day and it cost us about $18.50!!! Go to the grocery store!

Thanks lot!!! I'll be back! SAYAKA

This was the cutest guesthouse to stay at. It was very clean and had a "homey" feel to it too. The owner was quite friendly and helpful with information and transportation questions we had. They even had coffee there to make in their (2) shared kitchens which had (pots, pans, utensils, dishware, etc and cleaning supplies. The shared baths were very very clean and bright, It was very convenient to the center of Reykjavik, Within walking distance for us (about 1.25 mi) and very convenient to bus stops and local coffee shops.
