Nordic Hostel - Reykjavík

I’m a Gen X person and have not slept in a hostel for years - but spontaneously prolonged my stay in Iceland and was looking for something economical. And Nordic Hostel turned out to be a great place!!! I stayed for five nights in the dorms and was supper happy - great beds with soft bedding, light and a plug next to it, the blinds giving you privacy. The baths feel more like hotel bathrooms, and the kitchen is very well equipped. Everything is super clean and the staff super nice. So, a five star experience and absolutely recommendable!!

I couldn’t recommend more if traveling to Iceland. This was my first time in a dorm style hostel & the pods with the curtain made it 5/5. Felt like my own private room, the hostel was walking distance from some great spots, the bathrooms were modern, private, and clean. I had stayed 1 night at another hostel due to a full booking here and I couldn’t wait to get back to Nordic.

Clean, seems pretty new, feels like a boutique hotel. Fully stocked kitchen with everything from oven to dishwasher. Good central location, walkable. Bus from airport drops off 10 minutes away.

I had a wonderful stay here at Hostel Nordic. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with really nice private bathrooms. The hostel is located near the center of the city in walking distance to all of Reykjavik’s attractions and conveniently close to bus stops for easy access to the airport and tour pickups. I would highly recommend especially to solo travelers!

This was my first time staying at a hostel so unfortunately I can't use anything as a point of reference. But this hostel blew my expectations out of the water.

It's a hostel and your experience naturally is going to largely depend on the consideration of others staying, regardless of how nice. But I will say, the room was very nice, as well as clean, and the private curtain was wonderful and made the bed feel like my own little room with a tiny desk. The bathrooms were also very nice, as well as the kitchen. Though I do personally feel the kitchen is a bit small considering how many people may be staying at this location, but that's more of a personal preference than anything else. They have a recreational lounge which is insanely nice! Spacious, lots of books and board games about and comfortable chairs.

Federico, who I believe was the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were cleaned every day which was wonderful.

The building is also in a perfect location. An amazing view right down the street, "tourist sights" in walking distance and many food options around. There's also a Bonus and Kronan in walking distance for grocery needs. As well as a 24/7 10-11 nearby, though I would avoid this place unless necessary as its a money trap with overpriced goods. Though this is irrelevant to the Hostel haha.

All around I was incredibly satisfied with my stay.

The bed concept was really good. They had curtains, a small foldable table, stowage room beneath and three hooks per person so perfectly equipped to stow and keep everything in order. Kitchen even had a dishwasher and was clean as well as bathrooms. Had a very good stay here and would boom again!

Kumagaya

人生で初めてホステルに宿泊しましたが、とても快適な場所でした。

チェックインは事前にメールでGOKIというアプリのインストールと手続きを案内されるのでそこで行います。当日はフロントに行って名前を言うとアクセスキーであったり、館内の説明をしてもらえます。

立地はレイキャビクの中でもとても良い場所だと思います。スーパーマーケットや飲食店街へも徒歩で容易にアクセスできます。

ベッドルームはスクリーンカーテンがついているのでプライベートが保たれます。また、コンセントが1つと、照明が1つ、小さなテーブルが1つ、物をかけるためのフックが２つあります。
ベッドの下には鍵付きのプライベートロッカーがあります。

シャワールームはトイレと兼用になっており、6部屋ほどあります。オールインワンシャンプーが置いてあります。

ルームタイプに関してはシングルだと、26人部屋か12人部屋の2タイプがありますが、ベットのサイズ等は変わりません。単に1部屋に26人いるか12人かの違いです。私は26人部屋に滞在しましたが、特に騒音などはなく、快適でした。

Beautiful hostel. Lovely staff. Flawless digital check in. Wished I’d stayed longer. Could use a few more bathrooms for the size of the hostel, so plan around peak times.
