Northbound and Star Car Rental were the best choice for our trip in beautiful Iceland. The friendly and efficient staff met us at the airport, gave us tips for parking, as well as a much needed complementary coffee on arrival. Our car was fully reliable and had all necessary amenities so we could even cook some meals while travelling. Thank you very much for the great experience

True to Northbound's promise, if I noticed the price of my exact rental decreasing at any point between the booking and the trip, a short email to Northbound, and they quickly adjusted the price. The car itself was clean, well-optioned, and quite fuel efficient. I would absolutely recommend Northbound to anyone looking for car rental in Iceland. As for Lotus, the staff was courteous, thorough, and friendly. Tom brought us to the rental location from the airport swiftly, and Sebastian got us on our way with our car. He also brought us back to the airport when our trip ended. Northbound & Lotus' employees do it all. Great experience all-around. Thank you!

All great, car in good condition, clean and tidy and fully roadworthy. Excellent staff, very polite Nd straightforward. Guys were helpful and did everything to explain basic basic Icelandic driving rules, parking, road fees, refueling etc. Will definitely use them again

We had a great experience with Northbound Iceland. From the moment I arrived at their office, the service staff was very friendly and helpful. He explained in detail the rental agreement and provided me with driving tips. The car was new, clean and the model we chose. The best rental service I had in years. Great service!

Great car. Perfect for 4 Adults and luggage off a cruise. Drove very well. Able to park anywhere. Guys very helpful at the desk with information and in emails about driving in Iceland and how to get gas. Definitely would recommend company. Best of all great price.

Super véhicule , bonne suspension , idéal pour le passage de gués pas trop profond 30 à 40 cm ( ne connaissant pas la hauteur de la prise d'air ), trés bonne tenue de route sur les FRoad , trés confortable et idéal pour 4 adultes avec de nombreux bagages. Seul inconvénient le compartiment arrière n'est pas trés étanche et l'eau á tendance á s'accumuler. Des prises USB á l'arriére auraient été idéales pour les recharges de téléphone, mais ce qui est installé est déja top .il dispose d'une prise 220 volts 100 watts dans le mini coffre entre les sièges avant.la prise en charge par navette a été un peu longue ( 1 heure entre deux navettes á partir de l'aéroport) , mais lors de la remise du véhicule cela a été trés rapide. Prix un peu élevé mais le véhicule était nickel, top, 👌👍

My two daughters (in their 20’s) and myself rented a van with the extra battery around the ring road in 7 days. We were given a gas stove (2 gas canisters was enough for dinners & hot chocolate every night) dish ware, cutlery, table & chairs. We brought our own sleeping bags but the sleeping bags & pillows provided were of good quality. It rained hard 2 of the 7 days & drizzled most nights, so we were grateful that we were not tenting. The extra battery kept our fridge running and provided heat during the night (4 hrs when not plugged into electricity as it would need to be recharged while driving)
The 2022 Renault Trafic automatic vehicle handled well and the three of us were able to sleep comfortably side by side.
We purchased the extra insurance for peace of mind and glad we did as some of the sights took us on gravel roads (not F roads) which were rougher than expected. The vehicle was rented thru Rent.is and upon pick up the review of the workings of the vehicle was quick, as they were busy, which led to some confusion on how the extra battery worked. Drop off was easy but the pick up at the arrivals in the airport was a bit confusing, we missed the first shuttle as the sign held by the shuttle driver was small and contained multiple company names, but does come every 15 min.
Overall the camper van fit our needs travelling the ring road and gave us a great experience!

Our Northbound experience was what one would expect from consumer focused, transparent and convenient car rental without any tricks or hidden costs. It was great. Exactly opposite to the one we had in Italy with the Budget:) Pick up was fast and with helpful tips (incl. free map), 4x4 was in great shape (few scratches, but thats normal driving in Iceland), almost new, 22k milage and quite efficient (traveling 6 people, fully loaded, incl. F roads, 2500 km - aver. 7.5 l/100 km.). Toyota Highlander hybrid. Return was fast and easy. In addition - shuttle to and from the airport.
