My partner and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Domes last week. We stayed in the King Suite. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy, the jacuzzi, and the overall ambiance. ||We arrived to lights turned on for us as well as music. This is a Bluetooth speaker and is perfect for other music junkies. ||The bed was comfortable. There were plenty of blankets and pillows provided. There were extra towels, eye masks for sleep, earplugs, slippers. We wanted for nothing. ||My partner surprised me with rose petals and charcutes/bubbly. So this is an option. ||For those jet lagged Americans looking to buy food and then cook it at the dome, the groceries have their hours printed on their signs. There is a 24 hour grocery: Hagkaup, Skeifan 15, 108 Reykjavík.

This was by far a once in a lifetime stay. It was amazing to wake up and enjoy coffee in front of the view of the mountainous landscape. We loved reading about Iceland’s volcanos. The private hot tub and fridge (stocked with Pepsi!) were just what we needed after a long day.

What a wonderful accommodation! The dome was extremely clean and we had everything we could need and more. My husband even works with the owner to arrange a few surprises for me on my birthday. We will definitely be back!

Most of the reviews, either good or bad, are correct in their way.
We went there in Dec 2024 hoping to see the Northern Lights. The room my family and I stayed was the Keilir Dome (King suite) with a view of the mountains. It was really good and well equipped with bathroom and toilet, aircon/heater, fire stove, a kitchen and a hot tub. Wines and soft drinks were complimentary.
Didn't think we need any services.
We noticed that some of the domes have to share bathrooms and toilets. If you pay for that, you will have to bear with it.
The ambience in the room was great but unfortunately the weather wasn't gracious to us. Cloudy and rainy.
Yes, the location seemed desolate but well, the view was clear. Also, got to walk 8 minutes to nearest petrol kiosk with an eatery and shops.

Alas. We didn't see any Northern Lights due to the weather.

Had booked this as our flight for our flights and hotel deal was rearranged so instead of extending the hotel booking, we book this as a nice treat for our honeymoon. We didn’t have a car and the public transport to the area was good. A bit of walking at the end which was annoying with our suitcases but nothing we couldn’t handle, just glad the ice and snow had let up! We did get a taxi back from Reykjavík at 1am after a tour and that took only 15 mins and cost around £35 on the Hopp app for reference. ||Collecting the keys from the key safe was easy given our check in information messages to us a few days prior to our booking. The dome was warm when we entered and the gift of macarons and a small bottle of fizz were appreciated! The hot tub was already on and to temperature. Had a lovely soak before our northern lights tour. ||When we got back at 1:30am, the dome had cooled a few degrees but wasn’t unbearable at 18°C. We move the heaters a little closer to the bed. I slept well and was warm. The bed was very cosy, and warm once you were under the duvet. My husband was a little chilly but that is likely our fault as we didn’t use the fire due to the fact we weren’t going to be in the dome for much of the evening. There were also blankets we could have used and a hot water bottle which we also could have used. We were just too tired when we got back that late! It was also -4°C outside so it was expected to have cooled down a little from the daytime temperatures in the dome. ||The kitchen facilities in the dome themselves were basic with a coffee machine and kettle but the kitchen facilities by the shared toilets were excellent. ||I was a bit worried after reading the negative reviews but was very pleasantly surprised with how different an experience we had. Would definitely come back!

This place is amazing
Away from anything - private

We came on winter and it was cold and windy

I found even we are remote. It seemed vehicle activity at early morning.

I was afraid for our safety in case anyone came into our dome.
I even heard voices around 3am makes me hard to sleep

Other than that. Everything is good.

Thanks for the sparkling wine. I enjoy it after having hot tub outside

I booked my stay at the Reykjavik Dome months in advance, eagerly anticipating my Icelandic getaway. Unfortunately, my flight was cancelled the day before my scheduled arrival due to severe weather. I immediately contacted the property through Booking.com to inquire about a refund, but received a response stating it wasn't possible. I then attempted to contact the dome directly by phone multiple times to discuss alternative solutions, such as a voucher or date change, but my calls went unanswered. Considering the significant cost of a single night at the dome, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service. While the location itself looked amazing in pictures, I strongly advise anyone considering the Reykjavik Dome to explore other options that offer better assistance and service commensurate with their prices. Be sure to prioritize accommodations with responsive customer support in case of unforeseen circumstances.

When I arrived at the campgrounds, it did not strike me as a “luxury glamping” experience. It looked like the owners just randomly placed 3 domes in the middle of a dump. Definitely not a place I would pay $600+ to stay at. ||There is no one onsite to help you with any questions or issues that may arise during your stay (heating, plumbing, security, etc.). And good luck getting in touch with anyone. On top of being hard to reach, customer service was terrible! They only care about making money off of their customers, not about creating a great experience/accommodation for them.
