Thank you for taking us in during a heavy storm. The hospitality was awesome and we had a great sleep during the night. The house owner had prepped the clean bed sheets and the towels at such as short notice. There is a German shepherd which is in the apartment as well which is cute. Well recommended! 🙂

This hostel has good Wifi and a shared kitchen. The person at front desk at Hotel Blanda was very welcoming. However, there is a shared bathroom and no soap in the shower. Some rooms are cramped and the beds were uncomfortable. There are no sinks in the rooms. There are few electrical outlets. Overall, I would say this hostel has the most basic amenities, but nothing more. It's ok for students but not so good for families or older travelers. It's not a good value for the price.

C'è di bello che è praticamente una casa quasi sul mare e dal soggiorno si gode di una bella vista (per contro quel giorno tirava un vento pazzesco). Per il resto niente di eccezionale, c'è una cucina, un soggiorno un bagno, una doccia e alcune camere al piano di sotto e alcune camere e un bagno doccia al piano di sopra. Per il check-in bisogna andare all'hotel 200m più avanti.

My husband and I stayed in Riverside Hostel when we came to visit our daughter who lived in the old girl school right on the other side of the water. We didn´t expect hight standard because of the price and hostel standard but were pleased with the room and the house. There were several other quests but it was quiet and peaceful all the same. Most guests made their dinner and breakfast in the kitchen, which was well equipped. We had announced our arrival and got the roomnumber from the owner. The key was in the lock and there was no inconveniance with this simple check in, All in all we had a plesant stay.

I'm born and raised in Blönduós but haven't lived here since 1985. This trip was a visit to participate in my grandmothers 90 birthday. It was quite nostalgic to be here and experience these old houses taking ona totally different function then back in the days. |We stayed two nights in Gamla posthusid which means the old post office. And I remember when this place was a post office. Now the place is called the Riverside Hostel. We rented two rooms as we were a family with two teenagers. The rooms vary in sizes but had both two 90cm broad beds that could be placed together for a double bed. |There are bedside tables, a chair, hangers and a small shelf or table in each room. The location is just by the riverbank of Blanda and the view is perfect for watching sunset and the powerful ocean. |We just needed a place to sleep and for that this hostel is just fine. Actually some of the other guests cooked their meals in the kitchen which is fairly good equipped. One could store items in the fridge. |There is some strange smell in the rooms but a few drops of thieves essential oil removed it completely. There are two toilets in the first floor and one shower. And only one toilet and one shower on the second floor. Unfortunately one of the wc's was out of order. |Breakfast is supplementary and we didn't buy it but went to Kiljan instead. See my review on Kikjan guesthouse. |Even though the check in is at Hotel Blanda - 50 m down the road the service (when needed) was very helpful and kind. |I would stay here again for that same purpose. |

Very nice and wellcomming. Nice kitchen free to use. Good wifi. We had a free room upgrade. Breakfast in the hotel was nice. Nice views from the room and really calm athmosphere. We had the keys and then we were free to get in and out of the house. Furthermore, the housekeeper was very kind and also gave us some advice on our trip. All clean and comfy beads. Totally worth it.

We stayed here for a week and we missed a lot of facilities. It was basically a room with a bed. No kitchen facilities or anything. There is a small shared bathroom shared between 6-8 rooms. There is no service really. Free WiFi though - that must count for something. ||The house is really old and the radiators makes a lot of noise in the night. I found it very expensive it is an overpriced guesthouse. ||Breakfast can be bought on the hotel where you have to check in. The staff there is really nice but a bit messy. Forgot to unlock the front door at breakfast time and missing out a lot of stuff for the buffet. Not very professional. ||I don't recommend this.

Under new management and had gone some renovation. Only a few rooms are open at the moment and the lights are controlled by the owner. He can switch it on and off or dim or brighten it. Patio that has an amazing view and good to stay as long as it is not windy. On a good weather it is walking distance to the supermarket and atm machine. Old Blonduos church nearby and a few steps away to see where the river meets the sea.
