The room is warm and clean, and the host is very friendly, she showed us the lovely goat and help us interact with them. It is the best stay for people love animals, I really love it.

My three friends and I stayed two nights here in February 2024, and were warmly welcomed by Helena and Stefán. We stayed in the 3-bedroom family apartment, which was very clean and spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. It was a great home away from home! I loved meeting the friendly goats, and Finnur the cat was very curious about us during our stay. This destination is ideal for nature lovers, and offers a unique experience. I have other friends who also want to visit Iceland, and I will definitely bring them to Skálatjörn!

We have spent a wonderful night at Skalatjorn Guesthouse.|It's located in a very quiet and beautiful area. It offers you a whole fully furnished apartment in a marvellous environment! Private bathroom, huge living room with a small kitchen as well, free parking and nice view from your window! What a lovely place. Every afternoon you have the chance to cuddle and now the sweet Icelandic goats that the owner is trying to look after and protect very passionately. We really suggest it! Well done!

This is a special place! What a treasure to stay at a peaceful farm and enjoy the adorable and friendly goats. We stayed in the family apartment, which had everything we needed and the best window shades (for blocking the midnight sun) we encountered on our whole trip in Iceland. Don't miss the goat tour at 6 pm each day, which is included for guests. We appreciated learning about Icelandic goats and helping support their protection. Selfoss was a quick 20-minute drive for groceries or dining out. Helena recommended Krisp, which was our favorite meal in Iceland.

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my time. Helena, who is very friendly and interesting, offered a tour of her goat farm which was a lot of fun. The building that we stayed in is very clean and well maintained and the room was nice and big. The bathroom is a little small, but the large room more than makes up for it, as there is plenty of space outside of the bathroom to set things. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again!

We had a nice one night stay here on our way from the Golden Circle to the South East coast. The only thing I would note is you can hear doors open/close and smell foods others are cooking. There is a requested quiet time but as people are getting an early start on the day you will hear people coming and going. The bathroom was small but adequate and overall the room was clean and had everything we needed. It was an affordable stay for Iceland!

My wife and I spent a night here in early September. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The goats were great to see and if visiting again we would spend more then one night at this location. Thank you for hosting us.
