This was the second time we've stayed at Myriam's Guesthouse at Skeid whilst skiing in Iceland and once again it was a wonderful welcoming stay with very comfortable accommodation and really great food. The location (at the end of a long vallet into the mountains) is really unique and a real sense of being 'away from it all'. Lots of great skiing in winter and hiking in summer right from the front door.

We (French-American family of 4) arrived to camp at Skeid Guesthouse for a few nights during our trip around Iceland mid August. The Guesthouse is nestled deep in a beautiful green valley a short drive from Dalvik. The campsite was a small grassy field below the house and we had access to a communal living room, warm showers, toilets, washing machine and a beautiful and well equipped kitchen. Myriam and her family were friendly and gracious hosts. When we suffered some serious technical difficulties with our tent, they went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out. Our only regret with the visit was that it was too short and that we didn't have time to take advantage of everything that the Trolliskagi peninsula has to offer. We hope to return to Skeid cottage again someday.

Das Guesthouse Skeid ist eine rundum empfehlenswerte Unterkunft etwa 8 km außerhalb von Dalvik im wildromantischen Svarfaðardalur. Wir bewohnten ein Doppelzimmer in der Ferienwohnung in den liebevoll umgebauten Ställen hinter dem Wohnhaus der Besitzer. In diese Wohnung würde ich ohne Zögern sofort lebenslang einziehen: sehr gemütliche Wohnküche, geräumiges, sauberes Bad und ein fantastischer Ausblick. Das Ganze zu einem sehr vernünftigen Preis. Sollte ich je wieder in die Gegend kommen, werde ich auf jeden Fall wieder dort absteigen.

We actually found this place on Facebook while traveling around Iceland in a camper van, and booked it last minute. The views in the valley there were picturesque with a fresh light snow covering, and the host was super nice and very knowledgeable about the area. I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again, as it was one of my favorite places we stayed while in Iceland!

Nach langen Tagen im Zelt mit Dauerregen fand durch Zufall das Guesthouse am Ende des Tales nach einer Fahrt durch dicken Nebel. Kurz entschlossen klopfte ich an die Tür und fragt nach einem freien Bett - und hätte es nicht besser treffen können! Es war gemütlich und wunderschön ausgestattet, die Gastgeber einfach nur nett. Es gefiel mir sogar so gut, dass ich meine Brille dort vergaß, die mir dann auch noch nach Österreich nachgeschickt wurde. Danke nochmal auf diesem Weg!

Das wunderschöne, im einem Seitental ( Svarfaðardalurca. 20km von Darvik ) gelegene Guesthouse ist pik sauber und ganz liebevoll eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich rundum wohl. Wir haben auf der Wiese in unserem Camper übernachtet und konnten den Aufenthaltsraum mit Küche und den sanitären Anlagen nutzen. Es wird von den Gastgebern auf Anfrage auch gerne gekocht. Tipps für tolle Wanderungen und sonstigen Aktivitäten gibts jederzeit. Place to be near Darvik. Vielen Dank

The Guesthouse Skeið is in the Svarfaðardalur - the black valley. ||The old house is also black, and black is beautiful :)||From Dalvik, take the road 805 and drive 18 km till the farm Klaufabrekkur, the turn left to cross the river, then turn right at the farm Hæringstaðir and drive the last 800 meters to arrive at Skeið.||Now, you can enjoy the amazing landscape, the calm, discuss with Myriam or Ingimar... and feel "at home".||Activities: hiking, horse riding, whale watching. Ask Myriam for details and more.||We spent a wonderful time in Skeið and that will be our next stop again in the future.

We stayed here ski touring for a few days in April. The main room is bunks but is fine and comfortable, and there are a few separate rooms too. With a super lounge area for chilling and plenty of bathroom facilities, it is a super place. ||Myriam our hostess was wonderful and made us so welcome.||Plus we saw the Aurora too, a super trip and recommended
