Rooms were an average size, stayed on the 4th floor which had its own balcony area which was gorgeous to watch out of at night, the bathroom is nicely sized and the whole room was decorated nicely. Had an issue with transfer with another company but the reception was very helpful and solved the problem promptly and quickly. The breakfast is nice, it's a continental but had great choices of breakfasts. Location is amazing, not far from the church and the main area. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again on my next trip to Iceland.

If you have one takeaway from my review, it’s to book this hotel for your Reykjavik travels. My husband and I booked this for the beginning part of our trip, had the best experience, so we booked it again for the last part of our holiday! The free parking garage especially in the winter is a GAME CHANGER. Trust me! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are a great size. Best of all- the breakfast spread! It’s healthy and hearty, perfect to start your Iceland adventure. Thank you also for making my husband’s birthday special!

We had a wonderful stay at Skuggi! The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful, the breakfast was a welcome & needed perk in the mornings, and the location was hard to beat.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but we were out and about most days so we didn’t feel the need to have more space. The hotel lobby is also very spacious, so it was easy to head down and grab a drink for happy hour if we wanted to relax outside of the room.

It’s very convenient for tour pickups due to its proximity to Bus Stop #9 around the corner, and we used the public buses a few times as well which conveniently also had stops located very close to the hotel.

In addition it was an easy walk to the shopping streets and heart of the city which we took full advantage of. We would stay here again upon returning to Iceland!

We stayed at Skuggi Hotel in February last year as the first stop on our first-ever trip to Iceland and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The hotel was modern, clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The central location was perfect, being just a short walk to shops, restaurants and the beautiful Sun Voyager sculpture, which we loved visiting in the morning.

The breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of options to start the day right before our first Glacier tour. Skuggi Hotel made our introduction to Iceland very special and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Just returned from a lovely 3 nights stay. Hotel centrally placed and in walking distance to shops, cafes, bars & restaurants. Service excellent, rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast had various things to choose from and was more than adequate for what we required. Would definitely go back.

We booked our Iceland holiday through TUI and the TUI representative said she had stayed in this hotel and recommended it so we decided to give it a try. The hotel itself is very modern with a nice reception and bar area. Breakfast was an excellent selection of fresh fruit, pastries, cheese, meats, cereals, you could make your own waffles and proper orange and apple juice. Our only issue with the breakfast was that the porridge was thin and tasteless. We tried it ever day hoping the previous day was a one off but every day it was poor. Only a minor thing though as there was an excellent selection of other things to eat.||The room was very good. It was modern, clean and fairly spacious with everything we needed. I wish European hotels would provide a double duvet on a double bed (or two pushed together as is often the case) rather than two single duvets. We have come across this a few times before and just find it a bit strange. There was a TV in the room with local channels but also had BBC news which was good. The bathroom was clean, spacious and although the shower area was really good, the shower itself was really poor. We thought there might be a problem with it so asked some family members in another room to have a look at theirs and it was the same. We have just got home and can't wait for a decent shower!||In terms of location, it's only about 10 minutes walk from the centre with lots of nice places to eat. Be warned however Reykjavik is a very very expensive place. Some good places to visit are Vitabar for burgers - cheaper than most places and very good value. It's only a small place but nice. Reykjavik Fish Reataurant do some amazing fish and chips served in a bowl. Very tasty. Bai Bite Noodle Restaurant was good. Not badly priced and had a good selection of Chinese, Thai and Japanese food. Finally, go and grab a beer and listen to The Bookstore Band at Hús Máls og Menningar. It's a really cool bar and the band are fantastic. They are on most nights. It's very central as well. You can hire scooters to see the city and they work out about £15 an hour. So all in all we had a really nice weekend and would definitely go back to this hotel if we were to go back.

Smaller-sized rooms, but perfect for a couple going on the guided tours throughout the country. Great location for home base with the tour pickup location just around the corner and in the heart of "Old Reykjavik" within walking distance of everything.

The reception area and dining area is gorgeous.

The rooms are very clean and beautiful.

Staff is AMAZING! they are very helpful and friendly.

The best part of the whole stay is the free breakfast in the morning. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet-style. There is not one single thing that doesn't taste good there. My absolute favorite was the Icelandic Yogurt.

I highly recommend this hotel!
