Bellissima casa, totalmente come descritta, spaziosa e con molte dotazioni, molto confortevoli le ciabatte lasciate all'ingresso. Stupendo il messaggio dal proprietario che ci ha avvisato che sarebbe stato possibile vedere l'aurora boreale.

This place is absolutely magical. We stayed here for 4 nights when the temperature dropped to -15 and were still warm and snug. We didn't get to meet Remy but he was super responsive and helpful prior to our stay. The views are amazing, the apartment has everything you need, and you only need to walk for 5 minutes to see the aurora. An added bonus: you don't need to drive after visiting the beer spa (there's a zero tolerance policy on drink driving in Iceland) 😀
Just one thing to note if you are visiting during the winter season: most restaurants around are closed, so you need to either cater for yourself, or go to Akureyri to have a meal.

Easily our favorite stay in the entire 16-day trip. Yes, it's a bit off the beaten path, but if you are looking for a quiet, romantic, relaxing getaway with excellent chances to see the Aurora Borealis, this is the place. Gorgeous views from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The nearby Kaldi brewery is surprisingly excellent, and the beer spa down the street, while pricey, has good food and promises relaxation for that much needed self-care. There's not much else do right in Arskogssandur, so if you're looking for lots of activities and walkability you'll need to head back to Akureyri.

The nearest grocery store is in Akureyri, so if you're going to stay for more than a night I'd make sure you have some food with you unless you plan to eat at the Beer Spa.

We were a bit hesitant on staying here since it had only 1 review, but decided to take our chances. Having arrived to find that the single reviewer also had a framed photograph hanging on the wall, left us a bit concerned. However, those concerns quickly evaporated once we took a look around.

While the location is a bit remote, there are a few towns within easy reach for food, gas, restaurants, and shopping, albeit a 15-20 minute drive. No worries, it works. The property is well-kept, clean, and warm. Access is easy with spectacular views! The apartment is nice size with kitchen, small dining area, and bedroom. Bathroom is large compared to many places we've stayed in Iceland and has a heated towel rack. Nice touch! Best of all, there is a small washer/dryer where we were able to do a light load of laundry. Since there was only 1 soap pod, we had to decide whether to do dark or white laundry . . . not exactly earth-shattering, but two would have been better!

The bedroom was good size and the bed comfortable. However, it was a bit uncomfortable getting in and out with no room on either side of the bed, although the right side wall is a bit set back and easier to handle.

There was a lighted stairway at the entry area, curtained at the bottom, with a door at the top, that left us a bit unsettled as we were unable to find the switch to turn the light off and achieve the darkness we desired for sleep. However, simply closing the bedroom door did the trick!

Wifi worked well, coffee machine was ok, and while breakfast is available, we chose to "eat on the run" as we were making our rounds on the ring road and could catch a waffle in the car and keep moving.

Overall, I would highly recommend this stop for its comfort, beauty, and price (Mid-October 2022 - $100 Euro). We were not disappointed and you won't be either!
