AVOID AT ALL COST !!
The place is a scam. The access code to our room was never send to my email. When I reach the hotel there’s no one to help. What you can do is keep trying to call the Phone placed at the front door. However, it was unreachable. I have been calling for an hour. No one picked up the phone. There was nothing that you can do. I have to find another hotel at last minute.

Peggio non si può!!!|La signora per e-mail non c’ha mandato il codice delle stanze noi avevamo già pagato tutto e all’arrivo non c’era nessuna chiave e nessun codice!!! Prima disavventura in Islanda tutti gli altri appartamenti super puntuali e precisi!!! C’ha lasciato dopo 4 ore e mezza di macchina in piena notte in mezzo ad una strada non rispondendo a nessuna chiamata!!! E intascandosi i nostri soldi!!! Non consiglierei mai a nessuno questa specie di struttura!!!! Sempre meglio leggere le recensioni che di brutte ne ha assai!!! Una vergogna!!! In tutto questo ci siamo fatte un’altra ora di macchina per trovare un hotel che ci accogliesse !!! Voto : 0 !!!!!!!!!

Dopo 4 ore di macchina siamo arrivate alla struttura( posto sperduto dove c’era ben poco) e ci siamo accorti che la proprietaria non ci aveva mandato il codice per accedere alla stanza , abbiamo provato a chiamare moltissime volte senza ricevere risposta. Siamo state costrette a rifare un’ora di macchina per andare in un altro hotel che per fortuna aveva disponibilità alle 11 di sera. Solo dopo siamo andate a leggere le recensioni e abbiamo scoperto che fa questa cosa di routine. Non prenotate in questo hotel se non volete essere truffati!!!!

This was the lowest-rated, but fairly highly - priced, of all the places we stayed in Iceland, and given some of the poor reviews, we were doubtful about what to expect. However our apartment, looking out over the harbour, was huge. It was a family room with 3 beds (even though we’d only requested a twin) and had masses of space. The furnishings all seemed quite new (though rather 1970’s style) with lots of storage space. The kitchenette was also bigger than expected (and included a microwave plus tea/coffee which wasn’t mentioned) but the lighting needed improving. Nor were we expecting the apartment to be serviced daily with new towels, etc. The bathroom was disappointing - very spacious but with a tiny basin, no towel rail, and generally very utilitarian decor. The website mentions ‘soundproofing’ - well, it doesn’t work! Talking in adjacent apartments was very clear, and cooking/washing up clattering was dreadful. However by 10pm all was quiet and remained so until 7:30am. WiFi was great and there was the added bonus of having UK TV channels.|Access wasn’t an issue as other reviews suggest. We requested details via Booking.com a few days in advance and were told there’d be a free phone in the foyer to use to receive the door code. This worked perfectly. |The town store has good supplies, with quite a few UK brands, but if you need cheaper food, shop before arriving in Olafsvik. The town is a great location for touring the peninsula but there’s not much here, other than a couple of restaurants. There are some great hikes around the waterfall and surrounding hills.

Also fell victim to this SCAM of a place, unfortunately. We booked many months in advance and didn’t read the google reviews for this place to see everyone else who fell for it. BIG MISTAKE.

We arrived during our check in hours and were met with a coffee table with a landline phone. That’s it. No people, no front desk, just a phone. The sign on the wall told us to call a certain phone number to receive our room number and the code to our room, so we dialed it and were met with a busy signal. Over the course of the next two hours we dialed the number over 70 times on different devices only for no one to pick up. On their website it also has the exact same number and check in instructions, so this is the only way to get in. Luckily there was an airbnb nearby that had late check in hours, otherwise we would have had no place to stay.

After our trip we requested a refund through the site we booked through and the owner of this place refused. Big waste of a few hundred dollars. This place is the textbook definition of a scam, avoid it al all costs.
