Wir waren eine Nacht in dem Bed and Breakfast. Allerdings waren wir ein bisschen überrascht, dass unser Doppelzimmer mit eigener Dusche ein Container war. Die Terrasse vor dem Haus war klein. Es war sauber und die Gastgeberin freundlich. Die Dusche hatte nur oben an der Decke eine Brause. Das Bad war ein bisschen eng. Das Frühstück war ok. Allerdings war es ein bisschen komisch, dass wir in der Küche am kleinen Tisch gefrühstückt haben und die Schuhe dafür ausziehen mussten und selber abwaschen sollten. Servietten gab es keine - nur Haushaltspapier. Die Brote waren selbstgemacht, jedoch schon ein bisschen älter.

This was our 5th night in Iceland. The guesthouse is located outside of town along the main road. It was listed as a working farm, but most of the animals had been moved for the winter, so there were only a few horses. ||||Our room was in a converted portable storage unit. It was quite cheery and snug with a large window on one side that faced the horse pasture. We woke up to three Icelandic horses looking in the window at us! It was very warn and cozy, and the bathroom was quite nice. It was too windy that evening to take advantage of the chairs on the little deck. Everything was clean, and it looked new. We did not have WiFi in our room, but I believe that the owner said it was available in the common room in the next building over. ||||Breakfast was included with the room and was in the owner's house. She was very pleasant and gave us some recommendations for things to see that day on the way to our next destination. ||||While our stay here was nice, I do not think that I would stay at this location again. I felt that the cost was very high compared to other comparable accommodations in Iceland.

Während unserer Island-Rundreise suchten wir eine Unterkunft die auf dem Weg vom Myvatn zu den Westfjorden liegt. Hierdurch kamen wir auf das Nedra Vatnshorn Guesthouse, einer Farm ca. 10km von der Ortschaft Hvammstangi entfernt. Von der Ringstraße abfahrend, fährt man ca. 1km Schotterstraße um zu der Unterkunft zu kommen. Es gibt ein Haupthaus in welchem die Besitzer wohnen und ein danebenstehendes Gebäude mit 3 Zimmern für Gäste. Die Begrüßung und der Check-In waren sehr nett und entspannt, beides wurde von den beiden deutschsprachigen Ferienhelferinnen erledigt. Wir bekamen eine Karte der Gegend und noch Tipps zu einer schönen Route mit Möglichkeiten der Robben-Beobachtung.||Untergebracht waren wir im 3-Bettzimmer mit kleinem Waschbecken, welches rustikal und sauber war. Das Haus hatte ein Gemeinschaftsbad mit Dusche welches ebenfalls sauber wirkte. Darüberhinaus gab es ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer sowie eine gut eingerichtete Gemeinschaftsküche. Im Wohnzimmer lag ein Ordner mit sehr vielen Infos in verschiedenen Sprachen zu Gegend und Aktivitäten, wirklich toll & sehr hilfreich! Das kostenlose Internet war im Haus mit den Handys instabil und schwach, mit dem Laptop ging es aber einigermaßen. Ein Frühstück kann für 12 Euro pro Person dazu gebucht werden, dieses war gut und entsprach unseren Islanderfahrungen, allerdings empfanden wir den Preis als etwas zu hoch. Die Bezahlung am nächsten Tag erledigten ebenfalls wieder die beiden Ferienhelferinnen, somit hatten wir keinerlei Kontakt zu den Besitzern. Den vorhandenen Whirlpool haben wir nicht genutzt.

We stayed one night here in a container room. I had read reviews on this place before staying here, so I wasn't completely skeptical about the container rooms, but I was surprised how well-insulated they were. The room was clean, well-appointed, and also provided some tourist materials on the nearby area. The farm itself was cute with horses (though I didn't interact with them) and a very friendly dog (!!). It's an easy 10 minute drive to Hvammstangi and easy access to the Vatnsnes Peninsula.

My girlfriend and I passed one night in this guesthouse. It was a terribly windy day and Andrea welcome us very warmly. She was very kind and let us choose the room we wanted. The room with private bathroom was actually a container, but it was enough comfortable and warm. The breakfastt was good and natural; several things were handmade by Andrea or taken in some farm in the neighborhood.

La guesthouse e' un tutt'uno con la campagna, la tranquillita' e la squisita accoglienza della proprietaria Andrea, una simpatica e loquace signora prodiga di consigli e di informazioni su come godere al massimo dei luoghi intorno alla fattoria.||La nostra camera e' semplice e un po' rustica, ma accogliente e confortevole. I bagni sono in comune, ma in camera troviamo un piccolo pratico lavandino. Tutto molto pulito. ||Gustiamo la migliore colazione del nostro viaggio in Islanda: buonissimo pane fatto in casa e altri squisiti prodotti genuini come agnello affumicato, pesce e marmellata in un' ottima e cordiale atmosfera.

Loved it! Gives you a taste of what it might be like living on a farm in Iceland, which is an experience you cannot get at hotels, and it's just off Road 711 (a scenic drive around the secluded Vatnsnes Peninsula where there are restaurants, a supermarket and various points of interests). Kolugljúfur Waterfall is nearby, too, and being on the Ring Road it's a perfect stop if you're driving around Iceland or between Reykjavík and Akureyri. The house itself is gorgeous, the decor is charming, and the rooms are cosy (the heating kept me nice and warm while it was snowing outside!). Wi-Fi is free and was just as speedy as back home. Last but not least, the host is thoughtful, helpful, super friendly and has some great recommendations around the area. A truly delightful stay!
